Restaurant India News: Mestizo Delhi Brings Latin American Dining Experience to Priya Market

Mestizo has introduced a format centred on experiential dining, combining food, beverage, and curated programming within a single space. Located in Priya Market, the restaurant is positioned to cater to both daytime and evening consumption patterns.

The outlet has been designed to offer a structured transition across dayparts. During the day, the space operates in a more subdued format, targeting weekday lunches, business meetings, and casual dining occasions. The menu is built around Latin American cuisines, incorporating influences from Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, and Spain. Key offerings include tableside guacamole, freshly prepared tortillas, Nikkei-style dishes, grilled meats, and vegetarian options, indicating a diversified approach to menu engineering.

The beverage program focuses on Latin American spirits such as tequila, mezcal, and pisco, which are used across a cocktail menu designed to balance traditional flavour profiles with contemporary formats. The wine selection includes labels such as Argentine Malbec and Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon, aligning with the broader regional theme. At the same time, the restaurant has included Asian and Italian-inspired dishes to widen its consumer base and accommodate varied preferences.

The brand has introduced weekday promotions such as 1+1 Happy Hours on select cocktails, aimed at extending customer dwell time and driving early evening footfall. The addition of curated formats like Sip and Paint weekends reflects a growing trend within the hospitality sector, where dining spaces are being leveraged for activity-based engagement beyond food and beverage consumption.

The format shifts significantly during the evening, particularly over weekends, when the restaurant transitions into a higher-energy environment. Live music performances, including vocal acts and percussion, are integrated into the experience, supported by a bar program that focuses on spirit-forward cocktails.

This approach highlights a broader shift in India’s restaurant industry, where operators are increasingly adopting hybrid formats that combine dining with entertainment and cultural programming to maximise utilisation across different time slots.
