Restaurant India News: Masaya Debuts in Goa with Sunset Dining and Elevated Evenings in Vagator

Masaya has opened in Goa’s Anjuna–Vagator belt as a new experiential dining and nightlife venue, aimed at redefining the region’s sunset culture. Perched on a cliff overlooking the sea, the venue is designed to function as a relaxed sundowner spot by day and a high-energy party destination by night.

The name Masaya, derived from the Filipino word meaning joy and comfort, reflects the mood the space is meant to create. Founded by Ishaan, Rohit, Gaurav and Sachin, the venue features bold, curved interiors that evolve with the time of day. As evening sets in, lighting changes, 3D projections appear, and the ambience shifts from calm to energetic.

Designed by Akhlakh of Sketch All Studios, Masaya unfolds across multiple zones—an intimate indoor dining area, a sea-facing rooftop, and a tropical, jungle-inspired bar. The design draws from Afro-Egyptian influences, with art and sculpture playing a central role. Each section can host up to 200 guests while maintaining an open, flowing layout. Music plays a key role in shaping the experience, moving from Afro and house during sunset to hip hop and techno at night.

Founder shares, “Masaya means comfort and joy, and that emotion sits at the heart of everything we have created. The name reflects a sense of freedom and lightness, which is exactly how the space is meant to feel. The view and the sunset help you unwind, and as night falls, the energy invites you to dance. Masaya brings together relaxation and luxury in one seamless experience.”

The food menu is global and share-focused, offering sushi, dim sum, mezze, Asian small plates, Indian grills and coastal seafood. Signature dishes include Goma Crispy Mushroom and Peri Peri Prawn Tempura sushi, Mushroom Laksa, Chicken Chilli Oil Dim Sum, mezze platters, Indian kebabs, artisanal pizzas and pastas suited for both daytime dining and late-night meals.

Masaya’s bar introduces a mood-led cocktail concept, where drinks are organised by flavour and feeling rather than spirit. Guests can also customise their own cocktails using a simple illustrated guide. The menu includes cocktails such as Cola Caramel Royale, Tamarind Tide and Lychee Lemongrass Silk, alongside tropical, bold and non-alcoholic options.

With its mix of scenic views, evolving design, global food and progressive cocktails, Masaya positions itself as a new sundowner and nightlife destination in Goa.
