Restaurant India News: Mamagoto Reopens DLF Promenade Outlet with 1970s Asia-Inspired Theme

Mamagoto has reopened its outlet at DLF Promenade with a redesigned dining format inspired by Asian cultural influences from the 1970s, as the pan-Asian restaurant brand sharpens its focus on experiential dining and location-specific concepts.

The revamped restaurant at Vasant Vihar has been developed around the theme “Welcome to Then,” drawing references from 1970s Tokyo, Osaka and Hong Kong through its interiors, menu design and customer experience strategy. The relaunch marks a shift in the company’s approach, with the brand increasingly moving away from standardised outlet formats towards neighbourhood-focused storytelling and differentiated dining environments.

Operated by Azure Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., the restaurant incorporates design references inspired by Japanese street photography, Hong Kong pop culture and the visual identity associated with the Osaka Expo era. The outlet has been positioned as a longer-stay dining destination focused on immersive customer engagement alongside food and beverage offerings.

The new menu combines regional Asian dishes with updated presentations across dim sum, seafood, rice bowls and curry-based offerings. Key dishes include Bangkok Chinatown Vegetarian Dimsum, Charcoal Prawns with Spicy Bonito Mayo Glaze, Salmon Aburi Nigiri, Kamala Beach grilled eggplant with chicken and prawns, Soi 11 5Cs, Peranakan Heritage Fried Fish Cakes, Slow-Cooked Pork & Pumpkin Red Curry and Pad Kra Pao Kai. The restaurant has also retained signature bowl offerings including the K-Pop Porky Bowl.

Chef Ravi Saxena, Corporate Chef, Azure Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. said, “The new Mamagoto menu celebrates Asia's regional depth. We've gone hyper-specific with flavours, techniques, and ingredients while keeping the food approachable and fun. It's familiar yet unexpected — rooted yet experimental — and aligned with how today's diners explore Asian cuisine.”

According to the company, the DLF Promenade relaunch is part of a broader expansion and repositioning strategy for the brand. Mamagoto is currently expanding into cities including Kanpur, Itanagar, Coimbatore and Indiranagar in Bengaluru while redesigning existing outlets with market-specific concepts.

“The DLF Promenade relaunch is part of a wider, intentional evolution for the brand. Mamagoto is simultaneously entering new cities, including Kanpur, Itanagar, Coimbatore and Indiranagar, Bengaluru, while reimagining its existing restaurants with distinct neighbourhood-specific narratives, moving decisively away from a single uniform identity,” said Vineet Kochhar, COO Azure Hospitality Pvt Ltd.

The company said the DLF Promenade restaurant is the first outlet under this hyper-localised positioning strategy, where each location will reflect a different Asian cultural influence while maintaining the brand’s core pan-Asian identity established since its launch in 2010 at Khan Market.

Rahul Khanna, Co Founder & Director, Azure Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. said, “On January 21st, 2010, we put together a few tables and chairs and opened Mamagoto in Khan Market. Since then, it’s been one unforgettable rollercoaster — fuelled by passion, chaos, gratitude, and people. To our team, suppliers, families, and competitors — thank you for helping us grow every single day.”

He added, “And to you, thank you for giving us a reason to do what we do. Because without you, there would be no buzzing restaurants, no celebrations, reunions, first dates, or golden anniversaries. No feedback to learn from. No reason to evolve. Mamagoto was created for you, and every step of this journey has been because of you. Much more to come. Eat well.”

The relaunch highlights a broader trend in India’s organised dining sector, where restaurant operators are increasingly investing in thematic dining experiences, market-specific storytelling and curated menu formats to improve customer engagement and repeat footfalls.
