Restaurant India News: KFC India Rolls Out Smarter Indulgence Menu Balancing Taste and Nutrition

KFC India announced the introduction of its Smarter Indulgence range On the occasion of World Food Day, — a set of menu innovations designed to combine nutrition with the brand’s signature flavor. These new offerings aim to give consumers balanced meal options while retaining the bold, “finger lickin’ good” taste that defines KFC. The Smarter Indulgence initiative is currently being tested across select markets and includes updates in product design, cooking techniques, and ingredient sourcing.

Moksh Chopra, General Manager, KFC India & Partner Countries, said, “KFC has always stood for finger lickin’ good food, done the right way. We’re committed to food and business practices that are better for both people and our planet, and the latest Smarter Indulgence options deliver exactly that. From new menu items designed for balanced eating experiences to smarter ingredient swaps and more sustainable cooking techniques – each option is designed to make indulgence wholesome, without ever compromising on the bold, finger lickin’ good taste our fans know and love. We’re testing these across different markets and are confident consumers will embrace these options that enable them to enjoy their KFC favourites while making more mindful choices.”

The new Smarter Indulgence offerings include:

  • Chatpata Chana Burger (Rs 69): India’s first chickpea-based burger, featuring a crispy protein patty, onions, tangy sauce, eggless mayonnaise, and a seeded bun.

  • Smoky Grilled: A new grilled chicken variant that features juicy leg pieces with oriental smoky-spicy notes. It uses a grilling method, reducing oil use and adding a guilt-free element to the indulgence.

  • Whole Wheat Bun Upgrade: Consumers can now choose a bun with reduced maida content for their favorite Zinger Burger range.

  • Reduced-Fat Mayo: Offers a similar taste to the regular mayonnaise but with 7 percent less fat and fewer saturated fats.

  • Testing of Rice Bran Oil: A sustainable oil option high in unsaturated fats and antioxidants is being evaluated for potential menu integration.

As one of the fastest-growing quick-service restaurant (QSR) chains in India, KFC is aligning its menu strategy with changing consumer expectations for healthier and more sustainable choices. The Smarter Indulgence range signals KFC India’s intent to build a balanced menu pipeline that caters to modern, health-conscious consumers without compromising on flavor or quality.
