The Astor Goa, an all-suites luxury boutique hotel located in Candolim, North Goa, has expanded its accommodation portfolio with the introduction of a new ultra-premium category through the launch of its penthouse experience titled ‘Villa in the Sky’. The new offering, launched in February, marks the property’s entry into a high-end accommodation segment designed to cater to travellers seeking private, large-format stays.
Spread across 4,650 sq ft, the penthouse represents the most premium inventory within the hotel’s 72-suite property. The double-storey accommodation includes a fully equipped kitchen, automated settings, and a range of hospitality amenities typically associated with luxury residential stays. The penthouse is structured in a 2 + 2 configuration and can be booked either as a 4 BHK residence or as two separate 2 BHK units, allowing flexibility for families, groups of friends, and travellers looking to host private gatherings.
Industry observers note that such ultra-premium inventory formats are increasingly being introduced by boutique hotels to strengthen revenue per key while targeting a niche segment of high-spending travellers. The launch also reflects a growing trend in experience-led hospitality where properties are diversifying room categories to maximise value through extended stays and private experiences.
Within the hotel’s existing inventory, ‘Villa in the Sky’ is positioned as the flagship offering. The penthouse can function as a single four-bedroom residence or be divided into two separate spaces. One unit operates as a luxury suite, while the other features a double-storey penthouse layout with a private plunge pool. The pool area is designed to support both relaxation and small private gatherings.
Guests staying at the penthouse receive the same core services offered across the hotel’s suites, including extended breakfast hours until noon, complimentary minibar access, complimentary beach transfers, and accommodation benefits for children below 12 years. Additional experiences associated with the penthouse category include services such as a private chef, private events including poolside gatherings, and curated in-room activities.
Vikram Puri, Managing Director, Archer Hospitality Pvt Ltd, said, “Villa in the Sky is our answer to a clear shift in the way luxury is being sought today. Luxury is no longer only defined by excess, but by space, privacy, and bespoke services. And Villa in the Sky offers exactly that. It positions The Astor Goa as the go-to address for those who value their personal space and an experience tailored specially to their needs and wants. For us, this strategic category expansion also underscores our commitment to catering to the evolving demands of travellers seeking exceptional experiences, as well as our long-term vision of redefining what a boutique luxury hotel in Goa can truly be.”
Vaibhav Gupta, General Manager at The Astor Goa, added, “Staying in ‘Villa in the Sky' is all about how luxury makes you feel. Whether it’s enjoying quiet moments by the private plunge pool, dining in the comfort of your own space, or having a dedicated concierge attend to your needs, every attention to detail is to make the stay authentically yours and perfectly seamless. It is an intimate, curated world within our luxury boutique hotel.”
The penthouse experience begins from the point of arrival in Goa, where guests are offered chauffeured airport transfers followed by flexible check-in and check-out options subject to availability. The offering also includes welcome experiences such as champagne and high tea, along with concierge-led itinerary planning, dining reservations, and access to curated activities during the stay.
Additional in-residence experiences include culinary masterclasses focused on Goan cuisine, private chef dining formats, and a six-course chef’s table experience conducted within the residence. Other experiences include curated events such as in-house gatherings, private karaoke sessions, and interactive workshops, including coffee brewing and sourdough sessions.
Hospitality industry analysts point out that such immersive accommodation formats allow hotels to generate higher per-guest spending while encouraging longer stays through personalised services and in-residence programming. With the introduction of ‘Villa in the Sky’, The Astor Goa is positioning itself within the growing segment of boutique luxury hotels in Goa that are focusing on private, experience-driven hospitality formats aimed at affluent leisure travellers.
