IHG Hotels & Resorts has entered into a management agreement with Harisons Hotels & Resorts Pvt. Ltd. to develop the Crowne Plaza Resort Gurgaon Sohna near Palwal in the National Capital Region. The property is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2029 and forms part of the company’s ongoing expansion strategy in India.
The upcoming resort will be located approximately 70 minutes from Indira Gandhi International Airport and is being positioned to capture demand from weddings and social events in NCR, including inflow from neighbouring states. The asset is also expected to cater to weekend leisure travel and corporate offsite requirements.
Crowne Plaza operates as a premium segment brand within IHG’s global portfolio, with more than 400 properties across urban, airport, resort, and suburban markets. The brand’s expansion in India reflects a focus on mixed-use demand across business and leisure segments.
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said, “Sohna represents a compelling growth opportunity, situated within a high-potential corridor defined by sustained wedding and social celebrations demand, alongside expanding corporate activity, making it an ideal fit for our Crowne Plaza brand. We are confident this resort will deliver exceptional experiences for guests while generating long-term value for our partners, M/s. Harisons Hotels & Resorts Pvt. Ltd.”
Rajesh Gupta and Raman Gupta, Directors, Harisons Hotels & Resorts Pvt. Once operational, the resort will feature 150 rooms designed to meet the needs of both business and leisure travellers. The development will include four food and beverage outlets, comprising a lobby lounge, an all-day dining venue, a specialty restaurant, and a bar. Additional infrastructure will include banqueting and meeting spaces, a health club, spa, swimming pool, and indoor and outdoor recreational facilities, aligning the project with demand for integrated event and lifestyle destinations.
