Haldiram's is set to expand its international hospitality footprint with the launch of its first full-service restaurant in the United Kingdom, marking the brand’s move beyond packaged retail products into overseas dine-in operations.
The company is expected to open the new outlet in June 2026 at Leicester Square in London, according to reports by EasternEye. Spread across 3,000 square feet, the restaurant will serve a range of Indian dishes including street food, chaat, curries, and desserts inspired by regional Indian recipes.
Founded in 1937, Haldiram’s has built a global presence through packaged snacks and sweets such as bhujia, namkeen, soan papdi, and kaju katli, along with Indian quick-service dishes including chole bhature and pav bhaji. While the company’s products are already available across supermarkets in multiple international markets, the London opening signals a broader strategy to scale its restaurant business globally.
The UK expansion is being led by Rhea Agarwal, who is overseeing the company’s plans across the UK and Europe. Speaking about the market entry, she said London was selected because of its large South Asian consumer base and increasing demand for regional Indian cuisine.
“For many Indians living abroad, these flavours carry a deep sense of nostalgia. At the same time, we want to introduce a wider audience to the diversity of Indian cuisine,” Agarwal told Broadsheet.
The restaurant will operate beyond Haldiram’s traditional quick-service format and adopt a more casual dine-in model aimed at the UK market. The menu will include dishes such as chole bhature, pav bhaji, raj kachori, and other chaat offerings, alongside fusion desserts developed specifically for local consumers.
The outlet will also include a retail section offering packaged snacks and takeaway products, integrating both the company’s foodservice and FMCG operations under one format.
The launch comes as Indian food brands continue expanding internationally to tap into growing consumer demand for regional Indian cuisine and organised casual dining experiences across major global markets.
