Restaurant India News: Franks Hot Dog Opens Chandigarh Outlet at Nexus Elante Mall

Franchise India has announced the launch of Franks Hot Dog’s first outlet in Chandigarh, marking the brand’s entry into Punjab. The new outlet is located at Nexus Elante Mall and forms part of Franks Hot Dog’s broader pan-India expansion strategy in the quick service restaurant segment.

Franks Hot Dog has already established a presence with over 12 stores across Indian cities including Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Gurgaon, and Mumbai. The Chandigarh launch is aimed at strengthening the brand’s footprint in North India, particularly in a market driven by a large student and young professional population with growing exposure to global fast-food formats.

Nexus Elante Mall, which records over 10 million annual footfall, has been selected as the brand’s entry point into the city. The outlet follows a kiosk-led format designed for high-volume consumption and quick service. The menu includes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian offerings, featuring classic hot dog formats alongside Indian-inspired variations, positioned for made-to-order service and operational efficiency.

The Chandigarh QSR market is growing at an estimated 9 to 12 percent, in line with national trends. The Tricity region currently hosts over 100 global and national food chains, supported by increased mall-led dining and a rising youth demographic. Franks Hot Dog operates internationally with more than 17 outlets in France and has also expanded into Belgium and Switzerland. The brand’s India operations are supported through a franchise model that includes assistance in site selection, training, and marketing.

Gaurav Marya, Founder and Chairman, Franchise India, said, “Chandigarh stands as a premier educational hub teeming with Gen Z energy, and Franks Hot Dog perfectly caters to their love for bold, global flavours in quick bites. This launch underscores our commitment to bringing innovative QSR brands to high-potential markets, powering rapid pan-India growth.”

Naveen Kumar Arora, Unit Franchise Owner, added, “We are thrilled to introduce this global sensation to Chandigarh at Nexus Elante. With its unbeatable vibe and footfall, Franks Hot Dog will quickly become the go-to spot for youth craving premium hot dogs that are fun, fast, and flavourful.”

According to the company, Franks Hot Dog plans to scale to 300 outlets across India over the next five years, with an initial target of 100 outlets in the next 18 months. The expansion aligns with the growth of India’s QSR sector, which is projected to reach USD 43.5 billion by 2030 at a 9.36 percent CAGR. The Chandigarh outlet is scheduled to open to the public on December 18, 2025.
