Restaurant India News: Drop Dead Sexy Launches Immersive Art Bar With Seasonal Cocktail Concept

Drop Dead Sexy has opened as a bar concept positioned at the intersection of hospitality and contemporary art, presenting itself as an interactive environment rather than a conventional nightlife venue. Designed by Siddharth Kerkar, the space is structured to engage guests directly, with design elements that respond to movement and presence, placing visitors at the centre of the experience.

The interiors feature large-scale installations, including suspended hand-shaped lamps and a bar backdrop of mechanical eyes that track movement across the room. The design framework is intended to create a setting where guests are not passive observers but active participants within the space. Artworks by Subodh Kerkar form a key part of the venue, with paintings and sculptures integrated into the layout to anchor the concept in contemporary Indian art. The current visual setup includes seasonal strawberry-themed installations, introduced as a limited-time design layer that alters the mood and appearance of the bar.

Alongside the opening, Drop Dead Sexy has introduced its first seasonal bar programme titled Extraction Interaction. The programme follows a quarterly reset model, with the cocktail menu and overall bar experience rebuilt every three months around a single ingredient. Each cycle removes previous menus entirely, with no carryover between seasons.

The inaugural season focuses on strawberry as the core ingredient. The bar team has developed nine cocktails derived from multiple extraction and processing techniques, including hydrosols, milk-washing, lacto-fermentation, infused teas, gels, and ingredient-based ice formats that evolve as drinks are consumed. Each cocktail is designed to present a different expression of the same ingredient, ranging from lighter flavour profiles to more complex and texture-driven serves.

At the end of the season, the menu and thematic elements will be replaced in full, as the venue transitions to a new ingredient-led concept. With its rotating programme and art-forward positioning, Drop Dead Sexy is targeting consumers seeking experiential bar formats that combine design, beverage innovation, and limited-period offerings within the hospitality space.
