Restaurant India News: Dandelions Kitchen & Bar Reopens 145-Seater Premium Dining Space in Borivali

Dandelions Kitchen & Bar. Positioned as a 145-seater garden café and multi-cuisine restaurant, the outlet reflects a growing trend of premium dining concepts expanding beyond central business districts into high-density residential areas.

The restaurant is led by second-generation restaurateur Kritin S Shetty, continuing a family-led hospitality business established by Dr Harish B Shetty and Dr Satish B Shetty. The launch indicates sustained investment in suburban markets, where rising disposable income and evolving consumer preferences are driving demand for higher-quality dining formats.

Located in Borivali West, the outlet is structured across three distinct zones: an open-air garden café, a ground-floor air-conditioned dining area, and a first-floor section designed for private and corporate gatherings. This multi-zone approach allows operators to cater to varied demand segments within a single property, including casual dining, group events, and private functions.

The menu is built around in-house spice blends and multi-cuisine offerings, combining Indian formats with international influences. The beverage programme includes a mix of cocktails, spirits, and non-alcoholic options, aligned with current consumption trends in urban markets.

One of the differentiated elements is the inclusion of jaggery-based ice creams, positioned as a traditional dessert format with a modern adaptation. Such menu innovations reflect a broader industry shift towards local ingredient integration within contemporary dining formats.

Kritin S Shetty, Restaurateur and Founder, said, “Dandelions Kitchen & Bar is deeply rooted in our family’s legacy of hospitality started by my father and uncle. Our vision was to create a space where people can enjoy great food, warm hospitality, and a memorable atmosphere. From our in-house masalas to handcrafted jaggery-based ice creams, every element of the experience reflects our commitment to authenticity, innovation, and quality dining for our guests in Borivali West and across Mumbai.”

The opening highlights how suburban markets like Borivali are emerging as key growth zones for premium dining. Operators are increasingly focusing on larger formats, diversified seating layouts, and menu innovation to capture a wider customer base and improve per-outlet revenue potential.
