Cygnett Hotels & Resorts has completed 12 years of operations, marking a significant milestone in its growth from a regional hospitality company to a national hotel management platform with more than 4,000 operational and under-development keys across over 41 destinations in India.
Since its launch in 2014, the company has expanded its portfolio to 45 operational hotels and resorts across business hubs, leisure destinations, pilgrimage centres, and emerging tourism markets. The company focused early on Tier II and Tier III cities, as well as the North East, at a time when much of the hospitality industry remained concentrated in major metropolitan markets.
Over the years, Cygnett established a presence in destinations such as Ayodhya and multiple cities across the North East, positioning itself in markets that have since benefited from infrastructure development, improved connectivity, and growing travel demand.
Today, the company operates through multiple brands including Cygnett Hotels, Cygnett Park, Cygnett Inn, Cozzet, Cygnett Resort/Retreat, and Anamore, its upper upscale hospitality platform catering to experiential travel.
As part of its next growth phase, Cygnett is advancing a development pipeline scheduled to open over the next 24 to 30 months. Upcoming properties are planned across destinations including Pushkar, Jaipur, Kasauli-Kiarighat, Srinagar, Goa, Sonapur, Guwahati, Itanagar, Jim Corbett, Gurugram, Navi Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chail, Ujjain, Panvel, Murud, Tirupati, Vrindavan, Tawang, Motihari, Dhanbad, and Kharagpur.
A major component of the company’s expansion strategy is its partnership with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Through this collaboration, Cygnett gains access to Wyndham’s global distribution network, international sales channels, and Wyndham Rewards, which has more than 122 million enrolled members worldwide.
The partnership is also influencing the company’s brand development strategy. Upcoming hotels are expected to operate under Wyndham-affiliated brands, including Cygnett Hotels, Cygnett Park, Cygnett Inn, and Cozzet under Trademark Collection by Wyndham, along with Anamore and Anamore Select under Registry Collection Hotels by Wyndham and La Quinta by Wyndham.
Several existing properties have already been integrated into the Trademark Collection® by Wyndham portfolio, including hotels in Jaipur, Itanagar, Tezpur, Dibrugarh, Bongaigaon, Bhubaneswar, and Ayodhya.
Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder & Managing Director, Cygnett Hotels & Resorts, said, "When we started Cygnett twelve years ago, we were convinced that India's hospitality growth story would increasingly be shaped by emerging cities and untapped destinations. The North East, pilgrimage centres and regional markets offered immense potential, and our strategy was built around participating in this transformation long before it became an industry trend."
He further added, "As we enter the next phase of growth, our focus is on creating a globally connected hospitality platform rooted in regional India. Our partnership with Wyndham, expanding portfolio of brands and strong development pipeline position us well to capitalise on the evolving travel landscape and create long-term value for our stakeholders."
The company believes future growth opportunities in hospitality will be driven by spiritual tourism, experiential travel, destination weddings, and infrastructure-led commercial development beyond traditional metropolitan markets. Cygnett Hotels & Resorts has set a target of exceeding 100 hotels and 10,000 keys by 2030 as it continues to expand its presence across India and South Asia.
