Captain Sam’s Pizza, a Chandigarh-origin vegetarian pizza chain, has reported steady traction in India’s quick service restaurant (QSR) segment, crossing 1.75 lakh monthly orders and outlining plans to add 100 new outlets in FY 2026–27.
The company operates on a fully company-owned model and stated that its current outlets are profitable. It currently runs 55 outlets across regions including Punjab, Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, having expanded from a single store in Chandigarh to a wider North India presence.
The brand’s positioning is built around a pure vegetarian menu, affordable pricing and flavours tailored to Indian preferences. This approach aligns with consumption trends in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, where demand for familiar formats with localised taste profiles continues to grow.
India’s QSR sector has seen consistent expansion since the early 2000s, largely led by international chains focusing on metro markets with standardised menus. At the same time, non-metro regions have shown increasing demand for products that combine global formats with regional flavour adaptations. Within this landscape, Captain Sam’s Pizza operates in the value segment, focusing on region-specific offerings for price-sensitive consumers.
The company operates in a fragmented pizza market and has built its presence across key regions, supported by performance on platforms such as Zomato and Swiggy, along with repeat customer demand.
As part of its next growth phase, the brand plans to enter markets including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar, while expanding further within Uttar Pradesh and strengthening its presence in existing regions.
To support this expansion, the company has invested in commissary operations and supply chain infrastructure, with a portion of raw materials produced internally. This approach is aimed at maintaining cost control, ensuring quality consistency and standardising operations as the network scales.
The company indicated that its focus remains on maintaining operational discipline and aligning offerings with regional demand as it continues to expand within India’s evolving food services sector.
