Delhi's dining landscape has welcomed a new South Indian café concept with the launch of Café Athyeka in Meharchand Market. Positioned as a contemporary neighbourhood café, the outlet brings together culinary influences from India's five southern states while focusing on culture-led hospitality and regional storytelling.
Founded by Sheetal Saxena, the concept draws inspiration from her travels and experiences across South India. The café has been designed to offer guests an experience that combines regional food traditions with a comfortable and contemporary dining environment.
The menu highlights dishes from across South India, featuring the signature Athyeka Plate, served as a banana leaf-lined brass thali with a selection of regional preparations. Other offerings include Karimnagar Wings, Chicken 65, Vegetable Stew with Appam, Andhra Pulaos, and Chettinad Chicken Curry paired with Malabar Paratha.
The interiors incorporate South Indian-inspired elements, including Ikat motifs, handcrafted details, and artwork influenced by the region's cultural traditions.
Located in one of Delhi's established food and lifestyle districts, Café Athyeka enters the market at a time when consumers are increasingly seeking regional cuisine concepts that offer authenticity alongside contemporary presentation. The café aims to position itself as more than a dining venue, creating an experience centred on South Indian food culture, design, and hospitality.
