
Backroom Goa has emerged as a new hospitality and nightlife destination in Anjuna, positioning itself within Goa’s growing experiential bar and cocktail-led dining segment.
Located away from the state’s mainstream nightlife hubs, the venue has been designed as an intimate cocktail and community-driven concept focused on relaxed social experiences rather than high-volume nightlife operations. The brand is targeting consumers seeking smaller-format hospitality spaces centred around cocktails, music, food, and social interaction.
The concept draws inspiration from the idea of a “backroom” space within bars, where guests can engage in longer-format dining and social experiences in a less formal setting. The interiors follow a raw and minimal design approach with dim lighting and adaptable spaces aimed at creating different moods through music and guest interaction.
Backroom Goa’s beverage programme focuses heavily on signature cocktails with local and regional influences. The menu includes drinks such as Dirty Shetty, built around rasam vodka flavours inspired by Mangalorean cuisine, and First Cigarette, a floral highball featuring rosemary, cucumber, and lavender. Other offerings include Meet Me Inside, Date Night, Raw Mango Picante, and Big Jack Energy, which incorporate ingredients such as Goan urrak, feni, jackfruit, and Ratnagiri mangoes.
The food programme has been curated by Rohit Vishnani in collaboration with the Jholl Hospitality team, including Panav Arora. The menu follows a tapas and comfort-food format designed to complement the cocktail offerings. Signature dishes include Prawn Potli Balchão, Truffle Pate Naan, Nani’s Nimbu Mirch Chilli Chicken, XO Fried Rice, and 5 Spice Pork Ribs.
In addition to food and beverage operations, the venue is building engagement through programming such as karaoke nights, Afrobeat-themed evenings, and social gaming events, reflecting a broader hospitality trend toward community-led nightlife experiences.
With Goa’s hospitality market increasingly shifting toward experiential dining and curated nightlife concepts, Backroom Goa is positioning itself within the premium social dining and cocktail bar segment in Anjuna.
