Restaurant India News: Awsum Raises Rs 1 Crore on Shark Tank India at Rs 75 Crore Valuation

Awsum has raised Rs 1 crore on Shark Tank India Season 5 from Namita Thapar, Executive Director, Emcure Pharmaceuticals, and Ritesh Agarwal, Founder and Group CEO, OYO, at a valuation of Rs 75 crore. The investment supports the company’s plan to build a new “Better Bakes” category focused on everyday cakes and brownies made using functional and traditional ingredients.

Founded by Pranav Sharma, Awsum operates in India’s Rs 11,000+ crore packaged cake market with a product strategy that replaces refined flour, white sugar, and highly processed inputs with atta, gur, and honey. The brand offers a 100 percent eggless portfolio and uses Ayurvedic ingredients such as Brahmi, Ashwagandha, and Ginseng to position its products around everyday consumption with added functional benefits linked to focus, immunity, and wellness.

“For decades, consumers have had to choose between taste and health where indulgence meant compromise. With Awsum, we’re levelling that playing field”, said Pranav Sharma, Founder, Awsum. “Today’s young India reads labels, cares about ingredients, and wants mindful choices without giving up flavour. Our goal is to make better-for-you baking mainstream, not premium or niche. Partnering with Namita and Ritesh helps us scale that mission faster and take wholesome indulgence to every shelf across the country.”

The founders selected Namita Thapar and Ritesh Agarwal for their experience across healthcare-led consumer brands and large-scale consumer platforms. The partnership is expected to support Awsum’s retail expansion and strengthen distribution reach across multiple formats.

The company plans to use the capital to expand distribution in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, increase visibility across retail and quick-commerce platforms, and scale manufacturing capacity. Awsum also intends to introduce additional functional SKUs under its Better Bakes portfolio while investing in supply chain and technology systems to maintain quality and freshness at scale.

Awsum currently records monthly revenues of over Rs 3.4 crore and is present across leading quick-commerce platforms and modern retail outlets. The company operates an in-house manufacturing facility in Noida, following a just-in-time production model aimed at maintaining freshness and reducing inventory waste. The business is trending towards profitability. Its product range includes ready-to-eat cakes and brownies in flavours such as Orange Pistachio, Lemon Blueberry, Banana Walnut, and Carrot Cake, targeted at convenience-led consumption.
