Linking House Opens on Linking Road With 120 Seats and Day-to-Night Dining

Mumbai’s Santacruz West has added a new all-day dining venue with the opening of Linking House, a 4,000 sq. ft. restaurant and social space on Linking Road. Founded by hospitality entrepreneurs Riya Goon and Vivek Chandaliya, the venue has been designed to operate across multiple dayparts, from breakfast and coffee to lunch, high tea, dinner and cocktails.

Linking House has seating for 120 guests and an overall capacity of approximately 250. The concept is built around a day-to-night operating model, with different menus and service formats introduced through the day rather than functioning as separate restaurant concepts.

“We wanted to create a house that could be part of people's everyday lives, somewhere you could come in for a coffee, meet someone for lunch, gather with friends over dinner or end the night over cocktails. Linking House is built around that simple instinct to come together. Just as birds travel and eventually flock, we wanted to create a place where people could cross paths, gather and feel at home,” said Riya Goon and Vivek Chandaliya.

The venue opens from 8 AM with coffee, breakfast and bakery offerings, followed by lunch from 12 PM to 4 PM. The afternoon schedule includes a dedicated high tea service from 4 PM to 7 PM, while dinner and cocktails take over from 7 PM through 1:30 AM.

The food menu draws from Eastern, Mediterranean and Latin influences, with charcoal, live flame and searing iron used across the kitchen. The restaurant is also using baking, air-frying and poaching in place of conventional deep-frying for several preparations. A hydroponic garden at the property supplies herbs for the kitchen when available.

The menu has an even split between vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes and covers breakfast, open sandwiches, sushi, small plates, grills, curries, rice bowls and bakery items. Dishes include Turkish Eggs, Cottage Cheese Tonkatsu Sando, Crispy Cafreal Chicken Sando, Curry Leaf Cottage Cheese, Mojo Fish Skewers, BBQ Prawns with Apple Cucumber Salsa and Smoked Chicken Al Faham. The sushi selection includes Spicy Tuna Roll, Crispy Prawns Tempura Sushi, Spicy Volcano Salmon Roll and Truffled Purple Sweet Potato Uramaki.

The bakery operates throughout the day, offering products such as Classic Flaky Butter Croissant, Double Cocoa Chip Muffin, Zesty Lemon Curd Tart, Viennese Sacher Torte and Raspberry & Passion Fruit Entremet. The kitchen is led by Chef Satish Rawat and Chef Venkatesh Swamy, with Chef Satish bringing more than two decades of hospitality experience and Chef Venkatesh overseeing pastry and bakery operations.

The bar programme, titled “On the Wings of Migration”, takes inspiration from the movement of migratory birds across India. The cocktail menu uses ingredients associated with different regions, including mountain botanicals, native citrus, forest herbs, spices, tropical fruits, kokum, cashew apple and coastal produce. Techniques such as clarification, carbonation, fermentation, infusion, fat-washing and distillation are used in the drinks.

The cocktail programme is led by Atul Mundaye of Craft & Mix Hospitality. Drinks include Bat Shit Crazy, Bad Birdieeee, Naga Hill Picante and Tik Tik Boom, alongside cocktails such as Garden Spritz, Sunset at Juhu Beach and Pineapple Kaffir Cooler.

The venue’s interiors have been designed by Maulik Shah and Darshan Rawal, with the space shifting from a brighter setting during the day to a warmer atmosphere in the evening. Glass frontage, social seating, geometric elements and bird-inspired detailing form part of the design.

Beyond food and beverages, Linking House includes a pool table, bookshelves and board games. Its programming will include workshops, book clubs, creative gatherings, cultural collaborations and music-led events. The opening calendar includes karaoke, sip-and-paint evenings, coffee runs, coffee raves, Sufi nights, retro nights and brunches.

The opening adds another all-day hospitality format to Mumbai’s Santacruz West market, with Linking House positioning its 4,000 sq. ft. space around multiple consumption occasions rather than a single dining period.
