Harajuku Bakehouse Opens New Café in Defence Colony Delhi

Harajuku Bakehouse has expanded its presence in New Delhi with the opening of a new outlet in Defence Colony, introducing an updated beverage programme, an expanded grab-and-go food menu and the brand's first merchandise collection. The Japanese-inspired bakery and café has positioned the new outlet as a multi-format café experience, combining food, beverages and retail offerings under one roof.

A key feature of the launch is the introduction of a revamped beverage menu that includes Kokoro Blends, a range of Japanese-inspired drinks such as Iced Banana Hojicha Latte, Sakura Cream Soda and Iced Strawberry Cheesecake Matcha Latte. The outlet also marks the debut of Ikigai Club, a functional beverage range featuring protein coffee, mushroom coffee, functional matcha drinks and other wellness-focused offerings.

The food menu has been expanded with grab-and-go options including salads, poke bowls, Japanese-inspired sandwiches and bakery products, targeting customers looking for quick meal and snack options throughout the day. In a first for the brand, Harajuku Bakehouse has also introduced a merchandise collection featuring graphic T-shirts, tote bags and lifestyle products inspired by Japanese pop culture and the café's design identity.

Gaurav Kanwar, Founder of Harajuku Bakehouse, said, “This launch feels incredibly rewarding because it’s the culmination of months of work behind the scenes. We’ve reimagined our beverage programme, introduced entirely new categories, expanded our food offering and even created merchandise that reflects our brand’s personality. Defence Colony felt like the perfect neighbourhood to bring all of this together. We’re excited to welcome both longtime guests and people discovering Harajuku Bakehouse for the first time, and we hope this space becomes a place people return to throughout the day for great food, exciting drinks and an experience that always has something new to discover.”

The launch reflects the growing trend of cafés expanding beyond traditional food and beverage formats by incorporating wellness-focused products, retail merchandise and all-day dining options to drive customer engagement and repeat visits. The Defence Colony outlet further strengthens Harajuku Bakehouse's presence in Delhi's competitive café market while broadening its offering to include both lifestyle and food experiences.
