Chai Point all set to launch a hybrid payment model system

In a bid to expand its market footprint, online and retail tea maker Chai Point is all set to introduce a hybrid payment model system for one of its largest businesses.

The hybrid on-demand payment model will be integrated into the Bangalore-based tea retail chain's beverage dispenser model called BoxC. Presently, BoxC is operational across 2,000 corporate houses and office premises in eight cities.

For this integration, Chai Point has partnered with Paytm. It will enable tea chain to have a dual payment system for BoxC on a contractual basis with the corporate house or employer for a minimum amount and on-demand, where it can scale through payments by consumers directly.

Amuleek Singh Bijral, Founder & CEO Chai Point says, "BoxC is one of the fastest growing business channels for Chai Point. We have been receiving demands to install BoxC from many small as well as Large businesses where their employees can, partially or fully, for a quality beverage to keep going at work. This is the first time that contractual and on-demand billing is integrated and is a testament to the strength of our SHARK platform. Bringing on board the largest payment solutions provider Paytm will ensure that each customer will be able to pay in a simple way and get access to healthy and quality beverages at work. We also plan to extend this kind of integration with other wallets."

One of the largest Chai-led beverage platform, Chai Point has entered Amritsar by opening its store at the iconic Town Hall Complex near The Golden Temple.

With its packaged goods range, Chai Point has served over 8,300 pin codes in India.

Chai Point Amritsar is a large format store offering both indoor and outdoor seating. The premium store design and experience comprises a contemporary environment inside a historic building with careful attention given to its scale and original texture.

“While staying true to the building's typology of the space, we paid homage to the building's former stature by using materials and furniture that are relevant to the times when it was still an active palace, a time when artisans and royalty walked the halls of this massive palace. Therefore, we found a blend of contemporary and vernacular look and a tactile mix of materials in natural finishes that bear traces of craftsmanship and serve as an appropriate base for the design. As a showcase of our multi-layered approach to design, the original walls of the building were contrasted with massive wooden panelling that frames the space at sill level,” added Bijral.

The furniture for the Amritsar store is custom designed in Jodhpur with emphasis given to raw materials in special finishings that highlight the background of the space. The indoor - outdoor relationship is maintained by applying similar design ideas and material choices to the partition museum's outdoor terrace with cast iron tables and wooden benches circulating around planters.
