Chef Prakash Chettiyar Director of Culinary, JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar

Chef Prakash Chettiyar is the Director of Culinary, JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar. He is a culinary leader of rare depth, with more than two decades of experience across luxury hospitality and fine dining. As Director of Culinary at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, he has spent the past two years shaping the hotel's gastronomic identity crafting a dining portfolio that is as ambitious in vision as it is precise in execution.
Known for his versatility, Chef Prakash commands expertise across Indian, Coastal, Italian, Western, Thai and Chinese cuisines. His ability to honor authentic flavors while embracing contemporary technique has established him as one of India's most respected culinary voices. His career has taken him through the kitchens of India's most prestigious addresses such as Marriott Kochi, The Oberoi Cecil Shimla and JW Marriott Kolkata, where he served as Executive Chef. He also played an instrumental role in the pre-opening of landmark properties including The Ritz-Carlton Pune and Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata, helping establish their culinary identities from the ground up.
Chef Prakash led the Indian Cuisine section at The Oberoi Grand Kolkata and represented India during the acclaimed 2008 Incredible India campaign, a distinction that speaks to both his craft and his standing in the industry. His culinary expertise has been showcased at some of India's most prominent stages including the G20 Summit, Marriott's South East Asia General Managers Conference and key National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) initiatives. Beyond the kitchen, Chef Prakash has forged celebrated collaborations with some of India's most iconic restaurant names including Indian Accent, Masque and The Bombay Canteen. These partnerships produced acclaimed culinary pop-ups that elevated each collaboration into a genuine cultural moment, where craft met creativity and food became a story worth telling
