Aungshuman Chakraborty Executive Chef, The Leela Mumbai

With over 21 years of experience in luxury hospitality and food production, Aungshuman Chakraborty is the Executive Chef at The Leela Mumbai, a position he has held since 2019. Over the course of his career, he has built a strong reputation for leading culinary operations across premier hospitality brands in India and overseas.
Before joining The Leela Mumbai, he served as Complex Chef for Marriott and Courtyard by Marriott in Hyderabad and was Executive Chef at InterContinental Mauritius. His international experience also includes leading culinary operations at Oberoi Flight Services Mauritius, providing him valuable exposure to the aviation catering sector.
Chakraborty has held key leadership roles at renowned properties including The Oberoi Grand, Trident Bandra Kurla, and Hyatt Regency Mumbai, where he progressed through multiple culinary leadership positions. He was also part of several successful pre-opening teams, including 601 at The Park Chennai and The Dining Room at The Leela Palace Bengaluru. A graduate of the Institute of Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Chennai (1998 batch), Chakraborty has further enhanced his expertise through a Professional Development Programme in Kitchen and Restaurant Management from the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management, Dubai. Throughout his journey, he has worked alongside acclaimed chefs such as Mathew Cropp, Willi Wilson, Deepak Bhatia, and Jean-Michel Jasserand.
