Vanilla Miel, the Mumbai-based pâtisserie, chocolaterie and café brand founded by sisters Isha Shetty and Mansi Shetty Bafna, is expanding its café business with a second outlet at Lodha Signet, Lower Parel.
The brand started in 2018 as a delivery-led dessert and chocolate business before opening its first café in Pali Village in 2024. The Lower Parel outlet expands the format into an all-day café while retaining the brand’s focus on pâtisserie and chocolate.
Desserts remain central to the menu, with products such as Sienna, an almond tart with dark chocolate ganache, salted crunch and chocolate mousse, and Pistachio, made with 55% chocolate and pistachio praline. The chocolaterie range includes Maxime Chocolate Capsules & Tabs, Praline Sprigs and Chocolate Lines.
The new café has been designed with warm earthy tones, natural materials, diffused lighting and greenery. A yellow ribbon, used across Vanilla Miel’s visual identity, has been incorporated into the interiors as a design element and privacy divider. The space also features a textile triptych by artist Ish Patil inspired by vanilla and honey.
The Lower Parel menu broadens the brand’s offering beyond desserts to include breakfast, brunch, savoury dishes, healthier options, specialty coffee and matcha.
The coffee programme uses a micro-roasted, low-acidity medium-dark roast sourced from high-altitude Chikmagalur estates. The menu includes Honey Cinnamon Latté, Hot Crème Brûlée Latte (a take on a classic dessert - quintessentially Vanilla Miel), Iced Vietnamese Coffee, Iced Coconut Latte, Iced Vanilla Bean Shakerato and Iced Tiramisu Latte. The cold beverage menu also includes Orange Basil and Spiced Guava cold brew, along with the Vietnamese-style VM House Phin Cold Coffee.
The matcha menu uses ceremonial-grade matcha in hot and iced formats, with combinations including Pistachio, Coconut, Oat Foam and Berry Brown Sugar.
The food menu spans smoothies, salads, platters and savoury dishes. Options include Cocoa Maca Energy Booster, Mango Coconut Anti-Ager Smoothie, Heirloom Tomato salad, Middle Eastern Platter, Baby Potatoes with Asparagus and Miso braised savoury pancakes.
Desserts remain part of the all-day offering, with the Classic Chocolate Birthday Cake, Classic Pistachio Berry Cake and Crème Brûlée joining the brand’s existing pastry and chocolate range.
“Our first café was built around the idea of slowing down, discovering the space, spending time there. Lower Parel is a very different neighbourhood, so we wanted to create something that fits into the rhythm of everyday life. You can drop in for a coffee before work, stay for brunch, pick up a dessert in the afternoon, or simply let it become part of your daily ritual. What remains unchanged is the craft, the quality, and the standards that people have come to associate with Vanilla Miel,” say Isha & Mansi, Founders, Vanilla Miel.
With the Lower Parel opening, Vanilla Miel is expanding from its original delivery-led dessert business and Pali Village café into a broader all-day café format, while keeping pâtisserie and chocolate at the centre of its offering.
