THERAPY, the hospitality brand founded by Rishab Verma, Founder, Rive Hospitality, has opened its fifth Mumbai outlet in Powai. The new outlet follows the brand’s “one room, two shifts” format, operating as a café during the day and a bar and social space at night.
Founded in 2020 in Versova, THERAPY has developed a format combining café, cocktail bar, tap room, arcade and community-focused hospitality. The Powai outlet is designed to serve different dayparts, with a work-friendly café setup during the day and a more social format in the evening.
“I have always believed that people have their own version of THERAPY - sometimes it is coffee, sometimes it is a drink, sometimes it is music, games or simply being around people. THERAPY was built around that feeling of disconnecting and resetting without taking yourself too seriously,” says Rishab Verma, Founder, Rive Hospitality.
The Powai outlet incorporates entertainment elements including a working retro arcade machine, claw machine and board games integrated into booth seating. A large screen is also positioned for sports viewing, with programming around F1 Sundays, IPL nights and football weekends.
The beverage programme focuses on group-oriented serves and familiar Indian flavours. Slushy-style drinks use flavours such as jamun, kala khatta and spicy mango, with alcoholic versions forming part of the cocktail menu. Other offerings include Electric LIITs, Electric Fishbowls, party pitchers and Barman's Pitchers.
The food menu includes Mexican Fiesta Pizza with nachos, Stuffed Gochujang Chicken Wings, Peri Peri Chicken Tenders, Thecha Paneer Burger, Chicken Sloppy Joes, Crunchy Chickpeas and Farmhouse Pizza. The outlet also operates as an all-day café, offering coffee, breakfast, brunch, lighter bites, freak shakes, desserts and bakes from Treats by THERAPY.
According to the company, each THERAPY outlet is designed around its neighbourhood while retaining the brand’s core combination of food, drinks, music, games and community experiences. The Powai launch also forms part of the brand’s broader plans across catering, bartending and other hospitality ventures.
“The idea has never been to build another place where people come, eat, drink and leave. We want THERAPY to become part of people's routines - somewhere you can work from in the afternoon, watch a match in the evening, come back for karaoke on Friday and still find something different happening the next time. Powai gives us the opportunity to build that kind of neighbourhood relationship,” adds Verma.
With the Powai launch, THERAPY now operates five outlets in Mumbai, extending its day-to-night hospitality model across another neighbourhood.
