Shree Naman Group Acquires JW Marriott Bengaluru and Crowne Plaza Pune

Shree Naman Group has acquired JW Marriott Bengaluru for Rs 16.11 billion and Crowne Plaza Pune for Rs 1.89 billion in a deal worth around Rs 18 billion. The acquisition marks the Group’s entry into Bengaluru and Pune, taking its hospitality business beyond Mumbai.

The deal was completed on 1 October 2026, within 30 days of receiving approval from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) on 3 September 2026. The properties were acquired through a competitive bidding process. With the two hotels, Shree Naman Group now has five operating hotels across Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune, with around 1,000 rooms. Its existing properties include Sofitel Mumbai BKC, Lemon Tree Hotel, Kalina BKC, and ibis Mumbai BKC.

The Group plans to increase its portfolio to at least 2,500 rooms over the next five years through acquisitions and new projects. It has around 650–700 rooms in the development pipeline across three projects, including developments in Goa, a resort near Pavana Lake and an expansion of Sofitel Mumbai BKC. JW Marriott Bengaluru is located near Cubbon Park and UB City in the city's central business district, while Crowne Plaza Pune City Centre is situated on Bund Garden Road, close to key commercial areas and transport links.

Harsh J Shah, Director, Shree Naman Group, said, “This acquisition marks an important step in our journey towards building a pan-India portfolio of world-class hospitality assets, building on our existing hotels in Mumbai and exciting developments underway. JW Marriott Bengaluru and Crowne Plaza Pune are well-established hotels in exceptional locations. Over the coming years, we see opportunities to enhance both properties and strengthen their appeal to business and leisure travellers, while continuing to expand our hospitality portfolio through strategic acquisitions and new developments.”

The Group plans to upgrade both hotels, with a focus on rooms, food and beverage, wellness and events. Going forward, the brand will continue to acquire existing hotels while also developing new properties on its land parcels. Mixed-use projects, particularly in Mumbai, will also be part of its expansion plans.
