The Orchid Hotel, Mumbai has appointed Kazi Abdul Wahab as Executive Assistant Manager. The move brings over 18 years of cross-functional hospitality experience into the hotel’s core operations team.

Kazi Abdul Wahab has built his career across hospitality operations and sales, with a strong focus on food and beverage management, pre-opening projects, and operational standardisation. Known within industry circles for his structured and disciplined management style, he emphasises operational consistency as a driver of guest satisfaction and long-term brand stability.

Throughout his career, he has overseen multi-outlet F&B operations, large-scale banqueting venues, and cross-functional hotel teams across India and the Sultanate of Oman. His portfolio includes leadership exposure to four pre-opening properties and two major brand transitions: the repositioning of The Dukes Retreat to Athiva Resort & Spa, Khandala, and the transition from Le Royal Meridien to Hilton. These assignments underline his experience in managing operational continuity during ownership or brand changes.

In his new role at The Orchid Hotel, Mumbai, Kazi Abdul Wahab will supervise key operational verticals with a focus on service standardisation, inter-department coordination, resource optimisation, and overall guest experience alignment with the property’s brand positioning. The appointment signals the hotel’s emphasis on operational strengthening amid competitive pressures in Mumbai’s hospitality market.

Prior to joining The Orchid Hotel, Mumbai, he served as Director of Food & Beverage at Athiva Resort & Spa, Khandala, formerly known as The Dukes Retreat, Khandala. There, he managed multiple dining outlets and large-format banqueting facilities. His earlier assignments include leadership roles at Radisson Mumbai Andheri MIDC, Hilton Mumbai International Airport, Le Royal Meridien, and The Oberoi, Mumbai, providing him with exposure to both international and domestic hospitality frameworks.

Among his professional milestones are the successful execution of four pre-opening hotel projects across India and Oman, recognition as Best Manager of the Year in 2013, and a nomination for the Hilton CEO Awards. His operational strengths include manpower planning, vendor negotiations, budgeting controls, compliance audits, and structured strategic planning—areas that are increasingly critical in managing cost pressures and service expectations in urban hospitality markets.

Academically, Kazi Abdul Wahab holds a Twin Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Technology from Atharva College of Hotel Management. He is also a Certified Hotel Manager (CHM) accredited by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH and LA), reinforcing his adherence to international hospitality benchmarks.
