Restaurant India News:The Fern Expands South India Presence with New Resort Signing in Kerala

The Fern Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of The Fern Eco Bliss Resort Moolakada, Series by Marriott, in Kerala, further expanding its footprint in South India. The addition strengthens the hospitality group's regional presence, taking its total number of operational and upcoming properties in South India to 15 and its overall portfolio across India to 190 properties.

The signing reflects the company's continued focus on expanding into high-growth leisure and business travel destinations across the country, particularly in southern markets where tourism and hospitality demand continue to rise.

Suhail Kannampilly, Managing Director, The Fern Hotels & Resorts, said, “South India continues to be an important market in our expansion strategy, driven by increasing travel demand and growing opportunities across emerging destinations. The signing of The Fern Eco Bliss Resort Moolakada, Series by Marriott aligns with our vision to strengthen our presence in high-potential locations while delivering quality hospitality experiences that cater to the evolving preferences of today’s travellers.”

Scheduled to open in June 2027, the upcoming property will feature 116 rooms and suites designed to cater to both leisure and business travellers. The hotel will include an all-day dining restaurant and a range of guest facilities aimed at serving the growing demand for premium hospitality experiences in Kerala.

The project will also incorporate event infrastructure, including a conference room and banquet hall, positioning the property to attract corporate meetings, business events, weddings, and social gatherings.

A S Madhavan, Director, WF Kaivalya Holistic Private Limited, said, “We are delighted to partner with The Fern Hotels & Resorts for The Fern Eco Bliss Resort Moolakada, Series by Marriott. With The Fern’s strong brand reputation, operational expertise and commitment to sustainable hospitality, we are confident that this collaboration will establish a distinguished hospitality offering in the region and provide guests with a memorable stay experience.”

The latest signing comes as hotel operators continue to expand across emerging destinations in South India, supported by rising domestic tourism, improved connectivity, and increasing demand for organised hospitality infrastructure.
