Restaurant India News: Swiggy Partners with MoEngage to Expand AI-Led Customer Engagement

Swiggy has partnered with MoEngage to strengthen its customer engagement and retention capabilities as competition in India’s food delivery and quick commerce market continues to intensify. The food delivery platform said it selected MoEngage for its enterprise-scale automation capabilities, which will help streamline customer communication and automate engagement journeys across channels.

The partnership is already showing operational impact, according to the companies. Swiggy stated that its marketing team has reduced manual workload through automation, allowing teams to focus more on campaign strategy and creative execution rather than repetitive operational processes.

“At Swiggy, our ambition is to make every customer interaction feel relevant, timely, and valuable,” said Niranjan Sane, AVP – Growth at Swiggy. “MoEngage gives us the scale, reliability, and AI-driven intelligence to do exactly that. The platform’s capabilities have enabled us to engage more effectively, while maintaining a robust security framework.”

Along with omnichannel engagement tools, Swiggy is also using MoEngage’s Merlin AI Agents to support customer communication across the platform. The AI tools are being used to generate push notifications and in-app messages aimed at improving customer interaction and campaign efficiency.

Raviteja Dodda, CEO & Co-Founder of MoEngage, said, “Swiggy represents the future of customer engagement, a brand that understands that relevance at scale requires intelligence, not just volume. We’re proud to partner with brands that are embracing AI-native platforms to transform how they connect with customers.”

Swiggy also plans to explore MoEngage’s Merlin AI Decisioning capabilities, which are designed to help brands optimise engagement strategies and improve campaign performance through AI-led decision-making. The partnership reflects a wider trend across hospitality, food delivery, and restaurant technology platforms, where operators are increasingly investing in AI-driven personalisation and automated customer engagement to improve retention and repeat usage.
