Summit Hotels & Resorts has appointed Deepak Bothra as Corporate General Manager as part of its effort to strengthen operational leadership while expanding across the Eastern Himalayan region. The move comes as the company continues to scale its presence in key markets such as Sikkim, Darjeeling, and other parts of the Northeast.
Deepak Bothra brings close to three decades of experience in the hospitality sector, with expertise spanning hotel operations, pre-opening assignments, quality management, and revenue strategy. He has previously worked with multiple international and regional hotel brands, holding senior roles and contributing to property launches and operational improvements.
In his new role, Bothra will be responsible for overseeing operational strategy, maintaining service standards, and improving performance across the group’s portfolio. His mandate includes enhancing quality benchmarks, streamlining internal processes, and ensuring consistency across properties as the brand expands.
Sumit Mitruka, CEO, Summit Hotels & Resorts, said, “Deepak brings a rare combination of operational depth and quality-driven thinking. As we continue to expand our network across the Northeast, strengthening internal systems and service standards becomes critical. His experience in building and refining hotel operations will play a key role in driving consistency and long-term performance across our portfolio.”
The appointment reflects a broader trend within the hospitality industry, where operators are investing in senior leadership to manage multi-location portfolios and maintain service consistency. As hotel chains expand into emerging tourism regions, the focus on operational efficiency and standardisation is becoming increasingly important for sustaining growth and improving guest experience.
