Restaurant India News: Pomodoro Opens Their Second Outlet in Bandra

Pomodoro, the neighbourhood Italian pasta and coffee bar in Bandra, is expanding its space less than a year after opening. The restaurant, which began as a 28-seater, will now grow into a 60-plus-seat outlet in Bandra.

Founded by Sisters Chef Afshaa Rajqotwala and Nousheen Rajqotwala, Pomodoro has built a loyal local following for its handmade pastas, coffee, and relaxed hospitality. The expansion comes in response to steady demand from repeat diners rather than a shift in concept or scale.

Chef Afshaa Rajqotwala’s approach to the menu is shaped by her experience in Italian kitchens, with a focus on fresh pasta made by hand and sauces prepared from scratch. The restaurant’s live pasta bar remains central to the experience, with an emphasis on simple techniques and quality ingredients.

“Pomodoro was never meant to be about scale,” says Chef Afshaa Rajqotwala. “It was built around care, for the food, for the people we serve, and for the neighbourhood that welcomed us so openly. This expansion isn’t a business milestone as much as it is a thank you. Same food, same values, just a little more space to share it.”

The expanded Bandra space retains Pomodoro’s original design and neighbourhood feel, while adding more seating and a dedicated barista counter. This allows the café to further develop its coffee programme alongside its food offerings. Despite the larger footprint, Pomodoro says its focus remains unchanged on consistency, craft-driven food, and informal hospitality. Since opening, the restaurant has seen repeat footfall for dishes that have become local favourites, reinforcing its position as a community-led Italian dining spot in Bandra.
