Restaurant India News: Olivia Creamery Expands Beyond Kolkata with Delhi NCR Launch

Olivia Creamery has expanded into the Delhi NCR market, marking its first move outside its home city since its launch in 2021. The premium ice cream company, founded by Chef Malika Chawla Batra and Srishti Chawla, will initially serve consumers in the region through its website and direct ordering channels.

The expansion comes as India's premium dessert segment continues to witness growing demand for artisanal and small-batch products, with consumers increasingly seeking differentiated offerings driven by ingredient quality, craftsmanship and product authenticity.

Since its inception, Olivia Creamery has positioned itself within the premium artisanal ice cream category, focusing on limited-batch production using seasonal fruits, premium chocolate, cocoa, carefully sourced dairy and natural ingredients. Its portfolio includes classic and experimental flavours, alongside sugar-free and vegan options, as well as premium gifting hampers designed for special occasions.

Over the past few years, the brand has built a strong customer base in Kolkata by focusing on quality, consistency and product innovation rather than competing in the mass-market ice cream segment.

Co-Founder and Head Chef Malika Chawla Batra said, “Olivia Creamery started with a simple intent: to create ice creams that people remember not just for taste, but for feeling. Many of our flavours come from lived experiences, whether something we tasted while travelling, a childhood favourite, or a moment tied to a place or memory. Kolkata gave us the space to build that language slowly and honestly.”

The company views Delhi NCR as a natural extension of its customer base, given the region's growing appetite for premium food and beverage brands.

Speaking about the launch, Co-Founder Srishti Chawla said, “We’ve always believed that ice cream is not just a product, it’s an emotion-led category. Delhi NCR has a mature and evolving sweet treats culture, where consumers are actively seeking authenticity, craftsmanship, and brands with a point of view. We see strong alignment with that mindset.”

As competition intensifies, brands are focusing on product differentiation, storytelling and direct-to-consumer channels to build stronger customer loyalty. For Olivia Creamery, the Delhi NCR entry represents an important milestone in its growth journey and signals the company's intent to participate in the expanding premium dessert market beyond Eastern India.
