Mahendra Singh Dhoni has expanded his association with House of Biryan (HOB), moving from a strategic investor role to becoming the brand’s official ambassador. The development comes as the company looks to scale its operations and strengthen its presence across domestic and international markets.
Dhoni joined the company’s cap table in early 2025, and his enhanced role reflects a deeper alignment with the brand’s long-term growth strategy. House of Biryan operates a tech-enabled cloud kitchen model focused on process standardisation and operational consistency across locations.
The company has expanded from a single outlet to over 25 locations across Mumbai, Delhi, and Dubai, and has delivered more than 10 million orders to date. It is targeting revenue of Rs 500 crore over the next four to five years, indicating a scale-driven growth approach within the organised food delivery segment.
MS Dhoni said, “Consistency under pressure comes from strong processes. HOB has built a model where quality doesn’t depend on the outlet or the time of day. That’s very similar to how high-performing teams operate in sport,".
House of Biryan’s operating model includes a customisation-led offering under its “Meri Wali Biryani” format, allowing customers to select protein options, spice levels, and portion cuts. This approach has contributed to a reported repeat customer rate of 45 percent, highlighting a focus on retention within a competitive delivery-led market.
The company’s international expansion strategy is currently focused on the Middle East, with Dubai serving as a primary hub for scaling operations outside India. Its investor base includes Shardul Thakur, Rannvijay Singha, and Amol Parashar, along with institutional investors such as Al Siraj Holdings and Angel Star Ventures.
Commenting on the development, the co-founders said, “MS Dhoni represents everything we stand for—discipline, consistency, and performance at scale. His journey with HOB began as an investor who challenged our systems and numbers. His decision to step in as brand ambassador validates the strength of our operating model and our global vision for biryani,".
Founded in 2022 by Mohammed Bhol and Mikhail Shahani, with Mohit Goyal joining as co-founder in 2025, House of Biryan is positioned as a process-driven food-tech platform focused on scaling Indian cuisine through a standardised cloud kitchen framework.
