Restaurant India News: Leisure Hotels Group Opens Samsara Resort in Mussoorie

Leisure Hotels Group (LHG) has expanded its footprint in Uttarakhand with the launch of Samsara Resort in Mussoorie, taking the group's portfolio in the state to 15 properties. The opening further consolidates the company's presence in North India's experiential hospitality segment, particularly in Uttarakhand's leisure destinations.

Mussoorie, often referred to as the Queen of Hills, continues to remain a key market for the hospitality sector, attracting travellers seeking mountain experiences, heritage-led tourism and short-haul leisure breaks. The launch of Samsara Resort reflects the growing industry focus on boutique and experience-driven accommodation formats in established hill station destinations.

Spread across 2 acres, the property features 21 accommodation units comprising suites, mushroom tents and glamping domes overlooking the Himalayan landscape. Some of the domes include private Jacuzzis, while the resort also offers landscaped lawns, recreation areas and outdoor spaces designed to cater to families and couples.

Vibhas Prasad, Director, Leisure Hotels Group, said, "Samsara Hill Resort reflects our continued commitment to expanding experiential hospitality offerings across Uttarakhand's most iconic destinations. Mussoorie remains one of India's most beloved hill stations and with Samsara, we aim to offer travellers a distinctive mountain retreat that combines immersive experiences, authentic regional character, and warm hospitality in an exceptional natural setting."

He further added, "Samsara Hill Resort blends mountain serenity with immersive experiences and intuitive hospitality, offering travellers a more meaningful way to experience Mussoorie."

The resort's food and beverage offering includes an all-day dining menu featuring regional Garhwali recipes alongside international dishes, with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients. The resort has been positioned to cater primarily to families and couples, while also appealing to travellers seeking extended stays away from urban centres.

Manav Gupta, Promoter, Samsara Resort, said, "Samsara was envisioned as a sanctuary where guests can reconnect with nature while enjoying thoughtful luxury amidst the mountains. We are delighted to partner with Leisure Hotels Group and look forward to creating a distinctive hospitality experience that showcases Mussoorie's natural beauty, heritage, and enduring appeal for travellers seeking an authentic Himalayan escape."

Operators are moving beyond conventional hotel offerings by integrating nature-led experiences, alternative accommodation concepts and destination immersion into their business models. The upcoming Delhi–Dehradun Expressway is also expected to improve regional accessibility, potentially supporting higher tourist inflows to Mussoorie and neighbouring destinations.
