Restaurant India News: Holiday Inn Express to Debut in Surat with 110-Key Property

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Yashvi Greenco LLP to develop Holiday Inn Express Surat Gauravpath, marking its first hotel signing in Surat. The property is scheduled to open in 2029 and forms part of the company’s strategy to expand in high-growth commercial markets in India.

Holiday Inn Express, the company’s largest and fastest-growing brand with more than 3,200 hotels globally, focuses on standardised, efficient hospitality offerings designed for both business and leisure travellers. The brand’s Generation 5 design includes updated interiors and flexible workspaces, aimed at meeting the requirements of modern travellers in business-driven cities.

The upcoming 110-key hotel will be located within a mixed-use development along the Gauravpath corridor, an area witnessing rapid expansion. The project is expected to cater to demand from corporate travellers, small and medium enterprises and transit guests, supported by the city’s ongoing industrial growth and infrastructure development.

“We are pleased to accelerate the growth of our Holiday Inn Express brand in India with the signing of Holiday Inn Express Surat Gauravpath. India remains a key strategic growth market for IHG, and we have ambitious plans to further strengthen our presence across high-growth secondary and emerging commercial cities. Surat continues to benefit from strong industrial activity and progressive infrastructure development, making it an attractive destination for branded hospitality. Bringing our globally loved mainstream brand to the city aligns with our strategy to expand in markets with sustained business and transit demand. We are delighted to partner with Yashvi Greenco LLP on this project and are confident the hotel will deliver smart, efficient hospitality to meet the evolving needs of modern travelers," said Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts.

“We are delighted to partner with IHG Hotels & Resorts to introduce Holiday Inn Express to Surat. The city’s strong economic fundamentals and infrastructure momentum present a compelling opportunity for branded hospitality development. With IHG’s global expertise and the strength of the Holiday Inn Express brand, we are confident the hotel will become a preferred choice for business and transit travellers in the market,” said Paresh Khandelwal, Managing Partner, Yashvi Greenco LLP.

IHG currently operates 51 hotels across six brands in India, including Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn Resort and Holiday Inn Express, and has a pipeline of 89 additional hotels expected to open over the next 3–5 years, indicating continued expansion in the Indian hospitality sector.
