Fairmont Mumbai and Roswyn, A Morgans Originals Hotel, have appointed Rajiv Kapoor as General Manager, bringing combined leadership to two separate luxury properties in Mumbai. The move aligns both hotels under a unified operational structure while preserving their individual brand positioning in one of India’s most competitive hospitality markets.
Roswyn is currently in its pre-opening phase and will mark the India debut of Morgans Originals, part of Ennismore. The brand is positioned within the design-led, lifestyle hospitality segment and is known globally for independent identity-driven hotels.
Rajiv Kapoor has been associated with Fairmont Mumbai since its pre-opening stage and led the hotel’s launch in April 2025. He was responsible for building the property’s operational structure from the planning phase through commercial launch. With over 25 years of experience in luxury hospitality, he brings expertise across hotel operations, financial performance management, strategic planning, guest experience frameworks and team leadership. His track record includes aligning brand positioning with measurable commercial outcomes.
In his expanded role, Kapoor will oversee operations, strategic direction and talent development across both properties. The mandate includes maintaining Fairmont Mumbai’s established luxury positioning while preparing Roswyn for market entry as an independent lifestyle offering. A key focus will be revenue optimisation, stronger ADR performance and long-term brand equity creation across both assets.
Rajiv Kapoor said, “With over 25 years of hospitality, I’ve learned that the first year is about building discipline, culture, and credibility. Fairmont Mumbai has successfully completed its inaugural year, establishing a strong operational foundation and a clear position in the city’s luxury landscape. Now, with Roswyn — India’s first Morgans Originals — we are entering an exciting phase of growth. Morgans Originals hotels are known for their independent personalities, design-led spirit, and cultural edge, and Roswyn is poised to resonate deeply with the modern, globally minded traveller. Together, we are shaping two distinct brands with individual identities, united by operational excellence and a shared ambition to influence Mumbai’s next chapter in hospitality.”
The consolidated leadership structure reflects a broader trend in luxury hospitality, where experienced operators are tasked with managing multiple brand identities within a single market to maximise operational efficiency while protecting distinct positioning. With Fairmont already operational and Roswyn preparing for launch, the dual mandate is expected to focus on disciplined execution, revenue performance and brand differentiation in Mumbai’s evolving premium hotel segment.
