Restaurant India News: Coffeeshop Company Enters India with First Flagship Café in Delhi

Coffeeshop Company, an Austrian coffeehouse brand with over 25 years of operating history, has entered the Indian market with the launch of its first flagship outlet in Delhi. The move marks the brand’s initial step into one of the fastest-growing branded café markets globally and is being executed through a partnership with Franchise India.

Founded in Vienna, Coffeeshop Company operates a hybrid café format that combines coffee service with bar offerings, including cocktails and alcoholic beverages. The brand currently operates in seven countries with more than 100 outlets. Its India entry is positioned as a long-term retail play, aligned with shifting urban consumption patterns that favour premium café-led social spaces.

The launch comes at a time when India’s branded coffee shop segment is seeing accelerated growth. As per World Coffee Portal data, the market expanded by 12.7 percent over the last year and is projected to cross 10,000 outlets by 2030, translating into a five-year CAGR of 13.2 percent. India is currently the fastest-growing coffee shop market in the Asia-Pacific region, driven largely by young, urban consumers.

Coffeeshop Company operates an integrated business model, managing its value chain from sourcing and roasting to beverage development and machine technology. The brand is backed by the Eatery Group and Theophil Group, giving franchise partners access to decades of operational and product development expertise. Its menu in India includes established coffee formats such as Viennese Melange, Long Espresso, and Espresso Macchiato, along with cold beverages including Peach Berry Cooler, Iced Coffee Cocos Latte, and Hazelnut Caramel Frappe.

Gaurav Marya, Chairman of Franchise India, said, “Coffeeshop Company is a European proven coffee powerhouse. It represents a massive opportunity for entrepreneurs aiming to make the most of the rapidly growing café revolution in the country. Its deeply integrated support ecosystem makes it a formidable player in this market. Franglobal is excited to be the enabler in this business expansion.”

Sonya Chowdhry, Managing Director, Franchise India Brands, added, “Franchise India Brands is thrilled to partner with this globally acclaimed Austrian coffeeshop, blending 25 years of Viennese coffee heritage with innovative ‘coffee-to-go’ concepts tailored for India’s dynamic market. Through our proven franchising expertise, we're accelerating their vision of 100 stores by 2029, starting with this flagship Delhi launch.”

Zhanna Alcanov, Managing Director of Coffeeshop Company, said, “We are thrilled to bring the soul of Vienna to India. Our brand brings a heritage-rich experience, premium Arabica blends, and signature beverages that are adapted to local tastes, while maintaining our global standards of excellence. We aren't just selling coffee; we are offering an unmatched taste experience that grows sustainably.”

Raju Kapoor and Rahul Kapoor, Unit Franchisee Owners, stated, “We are incredibly excited to be the first to showcase this global legacy brand in India. Having the first-mover advantage allows us to give a truly unique, world-class experience to Indian customers who are increasingly looking for authenticity and premium quality.”

Coffeeshop Company has outlined plans to open more than 100 outlets across India over the next five years. The expansion strategy will focus on major metropolitan markets including Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad, with Franchise India supporting the rollout through its franchise development and retail advisory platform.
