
The Westin Mumbai Garden City has appointed Chef Mohammad Ali Haideria as Executive Chef, strengthening its culinary leadership team as the hotel continues to focus on guest dining experiences and wellness-oriented food offerings.
Chef Ali joins the property with over 19 years of experience across luxury hotels, fine dining establishments and large-scale hospitality operations in India, the UAE and Qatar. In his new role, he will oversee the hotel's culinary operations and lead its kitchen teams across food and beverage outlets.
Over the course of his career, Chef Ali has held leadership positions with several international hospitality brands, including JW Marriott Juhu, Waldorf Astoria, St. Regis, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and The Taj Mahal Palace. His expertise spans Progressive Indian and Asian cuisines, with a focus on modern cooking techniques, molecular gastronomy and sous-vide preparation.
He has also worked alongside internationally recognised chefs including Marco Pierre White, Mauro Colagreco and Hari Nayak. His professional portfolio includes catering assignments for global dignitaries, including former U.S. President Barack Obama. Previous culinary projects under his leadership have received industry recognition through platforms such as the BBC GoodFood Awards and TripAdvisor.
At The Westin Mumbai Garden City, Chef Ali is expected to align the property's food and beverage strategy with the brand's emphasis on wellness-focused hospitality. His approach will centre on developing menus that combine flavour, nutrition and contemporary culinary techniques.
