Restaurant India News: Maverick & Farmer Debuts Immersive Coffee Hub and Live Roastery in Bengaluru

Maverick & Farmer has opened its largest experience centre and café in Kothanur, North Bengaluru, transforming a restored residence into a 9,000 sq. ft. destination dedicated to specialty coffee. The space brings together a live roastery, café, coffee academy, retail store, and community hub under one roof.

The brand sources Arabica and Robusta beans from estates across India, including its Nellikad Estate in Coorg, and is known for innovative processing methods such as cold smoking, honey sun-drying, and fruit fermentations. Signature offerings include Parama, Sunkissed, Ol’ Smoky, and Rohan Bopanna’s Masterblend, with all coffees roasted daily in Bengaluru for maximum freshness.

A highlight of the new outlet is its live roastery, where visitors can watch coffee being roasted in real time. The café menu features both classic brews and inventive beverages, alongside an all-day dining selection designed to complement the coffee experience.
Designed by Balan and Nambisan Architects, the multi-level space includes flexible workspaces, a podcast studio, event areas, and a 100-seat community centre that hosts workshops, tastings, cultural events, and coffee education sessions. With this launch, Maverick & Farmer strengthens its presence in Bengaluru while creating a vibrant destination for coffee enthusiasts and the wider community.

“Coffee carries stories of the land, the people who grow it, and the care that goes into every stage of the process,” says Ashish D'abreo, Co-Founder, Q Grader and Coffee Roaster at Maverick & Farmer Coffee. “With Kothanur, we wanted to create a space where people could experience coffee in a more engaging way not just by drinking it, but by being closer to the process and spending time with it to really explore, experience, and discover coffee over a play-area of 9000 square feet, the largest in the city.”

“We’ve always believed that a lot can happen over coffee,” says Sreeram Gangadharan, Co-Founder of Maverick & Farmer Coffee. “Kothanur, our largest cafe yet, feels like a place where people can spend time whether that’s learning something new about coffee, catching up with friends, or simply taking a break from the day. Our community is important to us and this new outlet celebrates the friends of Maverick & Farmer by giving them a platform to connect and practice their craft.”

Maverick & Farmer currently operates five cafés across Bengaluru—Ulsoor, Koramangala, Cunningham Road, Church Street, and Kothanur as well as two locations in Goa, at Anjuna and Panjim. The company has also expanded its footprint through Square Burgers & Co. at the Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence. Beyond its café network, the brand maintains a strong B2B presence, supplying specialty coffee to hospitality, corporate, and retail partners across India, while also serving customers directly through its online platform.
