Barcelos, a globally known flame-grilled chicken brand, has officially entered the Indian market with the opening of its first outlet at Embassy Tech Village, Bengaluru. The brand is internationally recognised for its flame-grilled chicken offerings and sauce-led menu, and its India entry reflects a growing interest in differentiated protein-focused dining concepts within the country’s foodservice sector.

The brand’s entry comes at a time when India’s QSR and CDR segments continue to expand, while specialised grilled chicken concepts remain relatively underrepresented. Barcelos has partnered with Franchise India / Ichakdana to establish its presence in the country. The collaboration includes structured market entry support, operational planning, and localisation strategies aimed at aligning the brand with Indian consumer preferences.

According to industry stakeholders involved in the launch, significant R and D was undertaken to adapt flavours and offerings for the local market without altering the core flame-grilled positioning of the brand. The focus remains on consistency, scalable operations, and long-term viability across multiple formats and locations.

With its first store now operational, Barcelos plans to expand further across India through area developers and unit franchise partners. The brand is positioning its India journey as a structured retail expansion backed by end-to-end setup and operational support, targeting sustained growth in key urban markets.
