AB InBev India has announced the launch of Corona Cero, the zero alcohol variant of the global Corona brand, in India. Priced at Rs 120, the product will be distributed across modern trade outlets, e-commerce platforms and select on-premise locations nationwide.
The rollout comes at a time when India’s non-alcohol beer category, though still developing, is witnessing accelerated expansion. The segment recorded growth of nearly 25 percent last year, while AB InBev India reported high double-digit growth, outpacing overall industry performance. The company is positioning Corona Cero as part of a broader strategy to strengthen its presence in the zero alcohol portfolio and capture evolving consumption trends.
The launch reflects a structural shift in beverage programming across hotels, restaurants and event venues. Demand for non-alcohol alternatives has been rising, particularly among urban consumers seeking moderation without eliminating social drinking occasions. The availability of a globally recognised label such as Corona in a zero alcohol format provides operators with an established brand option within this segment.
Vineet Sharma, Vice President – Marketing & Trade Marketing, AB InBev India, said, " “We’re excited to introduce Corona Cero to India at a time when consumers are embracing more mindful choices without compromising on taste or experience. Corona Cero delivers everything people love about Corona, the refreshment, the flavour, and that unmistakable feeling of relaxing and unwinding, now with zero alcohol. This launch strengthens our non-alcohol beer portfolio and advances our commitment to smart drinking in India.”
The company has indicated that it aims to increase accessibility of non-alcohol beer across consumption occasions, including weekday dining, after-work gatherings and social events. For hospitality operators, this aligns with a wider movement toward diversified beverage menus that cater to mixed groups, including those who prefer alcohol-free options.
Corona Cero made its first cultural appearance in India at Magnetic Fields Nomads 2026 held from February 13–15 in Rajasthan. The activation included an alcohol-free sunrise bar format, structured as a daytime engagement concept within the festival environment. Such experiential integrations signal how beverage brands are embedding zero alcohol offerings into lifestyle and music-led platforms rather than limiting them to retail shelves.
The brand further extended its presence through a collaboration with Anuv Jain during his recent India tour. Associating the product with live music events reflects a targeted strategy to position zero alcohol beer within youth-driven cultural spaces.
The introduction of Corona Cero also aligns with AB InBev’s global Smart Drinking Goals, which focus on reducing harmful alcohol consumption by influencing consumer behaviour and portfolio diversification. The expansion of internationally recognised non-alcohol beer options is likely to support menu innovation and incremental revenue opportunities in a segment that is growing but remains underpenetrated.
With nationwide distribution underway, Corona Cero’s performance will be closely monitored by industry stakeholders as a potential benchmark for scaling premium zero alcohol formats in India’s organised retail and on-premise beverage landscape.
