Restaurant India News: AAMI Café & Bistro Opens its Doors in Candolim, Goa

AAMI Café & Bistro opens in Candolim, Goa. Designed as a space that celebrates connection, comfort, and mindful living, AAMI combines an all-day café and bistro, curated Airbnb accommodations, and a beautifully restored Portuguese villa, creating an experience that reflects Goa’s relaxed and unhurried spirit.

Named after the Konkani word for “we,” AAMI is built around the idea of togetherness. Situated beside a heritage Portuguese residence restored by the Lobo family, the property preserves much of its original architectural charm through laterite stone walls, terracotta-tiled roofs, lofty ceilings, skylights, and a traditional balcao-style veranda that seamlessly links the different spaces. The setting is further enhanced by lush landscaping curated by Vintage Gardens and carefully selected furnishings sourced from Pink Elephant, giving the property a warm, lived-in character.

The culinary offering blends popular continental favourites with vibrant Asian influences, particularly Thai-inspired dishes, while also incorporating flavours that resonate with Goa’s local food culture. Breakfast options include Turkish Eggs, Eggs Benedict, Avocado Toast, Hawaiian-Style Breakfast, and Cinnamon Coffee French Toast. Throughout the day, guests can explore dishes such as Podi Calamari Rings, Chilli Lime Prawns, Chicken Satay, Chilli Garlic Noodles, Thai Curry Bowls, Massaman Curry Bowl, Sriracha Chicken Pizza, Wild Mushroom Risotto, Grilled Lemon Herb Chicken with Pepper Sauce, and the signature AAMI Croissanwich.

The beverage programme has been carefully curated to complement the food menu, featuring signatures such as the Guava Chilli Martini, Espresso Spritz, Virgin Cosmopolitan, Apple Ginger Spritz, and the house-special AAMI Cold Coffee. AAMI also collaborates with respected homegrown brands to elevate its offerings.

The coffee programme has been developed with Mumbai-based TOISE Coffee, while artisanal Italian gelato from Cream Choc adds a distinctive touch to the dessert selection. Guests can indulge in offerings such as Chocolate Hazelnut Tarts, Forest Berry Cheesecake Gelato, and Passionfruit Sorbet.

Extending beyond the café experience, the property also offers thoughtfully designed Airbnb accommodations and a restored heritage villa. The heritage home features amenities including an indoor pool and media centre, making it ideal for intimate group retreats, weekend escapes, and extended stays that embrace a slower pace of travel.

“There is a lot of value today placed on experiences that are louder, faster, or more visually driven,” says Rohit Lobo, Co-Founder of AAMI, Café & Bisto. “We wanted to create something that felt quieter and more lasting. This perspective also shapes AAMI’s relationship with Goa itself. Rather than drawing from a stylised interpretation of the city, we take inspiration from Goa’s  natural pace of living, long mornings, slower afternoons, and spaces that allow people to connect without feeling rushed.

“Goa already has an incredible café culture, but we felt there was room for a space that felt a little softer and more grounded. AAMI isn’t built around occasion dining or spectacle. It’s built around everyday comfort and the idea of belonging. The café positions itself not as a themed destination, but as an extension of the everyday rituals that already define life in Goa.” added Sudhir Lobo, Co-Founder of AAMI, Café & Bistro.
