Original Burger Co. is set to enter the international market with its first overseas outlet at Funan Mall in Singapore in October.
The Bengaluru-based brand, which currently operates outlets across Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad, will use the Singapore opening to expand beyond India and establish its presence in Southeast Asia.
The international entry follows the brand’s expansion across South India, where it has built its business around smash burgers and a fast-casual dining format. The Singapore outlet will bring the same core menu and brand positioning to a new market.
The new store at Funan Mall, a retail and lifestyle destination in Singapore, will give the chain a presence in a high-footfall commercial location. The launch also marks the brand’s first move outside India and will provide an opportunity to assess the viability of its format in an overseas market.
The expansion comes as Indian food and restaurant brands increasingly look at international markets to extend their operations beyond domestic cities. For Original Burger Co., Singapore will be the first market in this expansion strategy, with the October opening marking its transition from a South India-focused operator to an international restaurant brand.
