NĀVU has expanded into beverages with the launch of a new cocktail programme at its MG Road location, adding a dedicated bar offering after more than six years of operating around food.
The programme is divided into three sections — Riffs, Classics and Boozy Coffee — bringing together modified versions of familiar cocktails, traditional recipes and coffee-based drinks.
The Riffs section includes cocktails such as Bobby Burns, Bloody Mary, Tequila Sunrise and Piña Colada, with NĀVU incorporating ingredients and techniques used in its kitchen. The Bloody Mary, for instance, uses house-made bloody ketchup, while the Piña Colada is served in a clarified format.
The Classics section includes Montgomery, Old Fashioned, Boulevardier, Hemingway Daiquiri and Manhattan without modifications. The Montgomery follows the 15:1 gin-to-vermouth ratio associated with Field Marshal Montgomery.
The Boozy Coffee section combines Bengaluru’s coffee culture with cocktails and after-dinner drinks. The selection includes Espresso Martini, Night Shift, Irish Coffee, Barraquito and Last Call, using ingredients such as espresso, cold brew and house-made coffee orgeat.
Kanishka Sharma, Chef and Co-founder, said, “We’ve always loved working with spirits and finding different ways to layer flavour. We never had a bar at NĀVU to really explore that, so when we were thinking about MG Road, we knew we wanted one. It gives us the space to do more with cocktails, but also to bring that same way of thinking we have with food into the bar.”
Pallavi Menon, Chef and Co-founder, said, “I love how the drinks programme adds to the food programme. They really bookend the experience for us. You can come in early for a drink and stay for dinner or come for dinner and stay on for drinks.”
The new programme expands NĀVU’s offering beyond its food-led format and gives the MG Road outlet a broader role across dining and evening occasions.
