Colombian specialty coffee company Libertario Coffee Co. & Roasters has opened its second Indian outlet at DLF Summit Plaza on Golf Course Road, Gurugram. The flagship, which opened to the public on 3 November, follows the brand’s India debut in Greater Kailash 2, New Delhi, in July 2025.
The new outlet introduces the company’s first in-house coffee roastery in India and a coffee omakase format featuring guided tastings of selected coffees, varietals and brewing methods. The model combines roasting, tasting and coffee education with the café’s hospitality operations, extending the brand’s offering beyond conventional coffee retail.
Founded in Colombia in 2015, Libertario operates across coffee cultivation, sourcing, exports and hospitality. Its business originated from the family estate La Palma y El Tucán, and the company currently exports coffee to 32 countries. The Gurugram facility will allow customers to engage with the roasting process, while the omakase experience will focus on differences in bean origins, processing and brewing techniques.
The flagship also includes an expanded food and beverage programme. Through the new format, Libertario is looking to build its Indian operations around specialty coffee retail and guided tasting experiences.
Miguel Villaquiran, Co-founder & India CEO, Libertario, said, “India is an important market for us, and the response to our first café in Delhi has given us the confidence to take the next step. With Gurugram, we are introducing a more complete expression of what Libertario has built over the years, from our understanding of coffee cultivation and roasting to the different ways coffee can be prepared and enjoyed. As we expand, we want to retain our emphasis on product quality, originality and the experience we offer at each location.”
The company is planning to expand its NCR network to 5-6 outlets by March 2026. It is also evaluating entry into Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad over the next 12-18 months.
Before the public opening, Libertario hosted a private event on 30 October in collaboration with Soho House Cities Without Houses, giving invited guests access to the new outlet. The Gurugram launch adds a roasting facility and an experiential coffee format to Libertario’s India operations as it works towards expanding its presence in the country’s specialty coffee market.
