Dindigul Thalappakatti has expanded its Bengaluru footprint with the opening of a new restaurant in Koramangala 7th Block, adding another location to the South Indian restaurant brand’s growing network.
The new outlet was inaugurated by Kannada actor Karunada Chakravarthy Dr. Shivarajkumar. His association with the opening also connects with the brand’s longstanding association with Karnataka and its earlier interaction with the late Dr. Rajkumar.
We fondly cherish the memory of the legendary Dr. Rajkumar visiting our original home branch in Dindigul after completing his shoot in Kodaikanal. His visit remains a treasured part of our journey and our association with Karnataka. To now have his legacy carried forward by Dr. Shivarajkumar, and to welcome him as we open our new restaurant in Koramangala, makes this moment especially meaningful for us.
Founded in 1957, Dindigul Thalappakatti has expanded from its original Dindigul eatery into a South Indian restaurant brand with a presence across India and international markets. Its biriyani remains a key part of the menu, while the wider offering includes South Indian dishes, regional specialities, starters, beverages and desserts.
The Koramangala outlet has been designed around the brand’s existing food offering while introducing a more contemporary dining environment. The expansion gives the company a presence in one of Bengaluru’s established dining and commercial neighbourhoods.
The brand has also developed customer-focused initiatives alongside its restaurant expansion. Its Legends Club loyalty programme provides rewards and benefits to customers, while Kombozz offers curated meal combinations focused on convenience and value. Through Nati Raja, the company continues to focus on native recipes and regional flavours.
Dindigul Thalappakatti has also built visibility among entertainment personalities over the years. Recent visitors mentioned by the brand include Rishab Shetty, Shankar Mahadevan, Prakash Raj and Venkat Prabhu.
The company’s current expansion strategy involves taking its established food proposition to new neighbourhoods while maintaining consistency across its outlets. The Koramangala launch adds to its Bengaluru presence as the brand continues its wider expansion across domestic and international markets.
The new outlet also comes at a time when established regional restaurant brands are using their existing culinary identities to enter new markets and reach a broader customer base. For Dindigul Thalappakatti, Bengaluru remains an important market for taking its South Indian dining format to a wider consumer base.
With its roots dating back to 1957, the brand is continuing to combine its established menu with newer restaurant formats and customer programmes as it expands into additional locations.
