Chrome Hospitality Opens Second ‘Late Checkout’ Outpost in Bandra

Chrome Hospitality has expanded its Late Checkout brand with a second outlet in Bandra, following its debut in Lower Parel. Spread across 6,000 sq. ft., the new bar occupies the former Monkey Bar space and marks the group’s ninth venture in Mumbai.

Founded by Pawan Shahri and Nikita Shahri, Chrome Hospitality operates brands including Gigi, Lyla, EVE!, Shy and Donna Deli. Late Checkout Bandra combines a nostalgia-inspired cocktail menu with a bar-focused food offering featuring favourites from its Lower Parel outlet and new additions.

The bar also introduces a slow-brew coffee programme featuring beans sourced from Karnataka and Colombia. It plans to host pop-ups, guest shifts and international collaborations, including a five-day residency with Zuma Bangkok and participation in Kuala Lumpur Cocktail Week.

“The expansion of Late Checkout into Bandra is an important step in building the brand beyond its original location. We look at expansion through the lens of where a concept makes sense, how it can connect with a new audience and whether the location allows us to build a sustainable business over time. Bandra felt like a natural next step for Late Checkout, both because of our own association with the neighbourhood and the kind of community it attracts. As we continue to grow Chrome Hospitality’s portfolio, our focus remains on building dif erentiated concepts that have a clear identity and the potential to evolve across locations, rather than replicating a format without adapting it to the market,” says Pawan Shahri, Co-founder and CEO, Chrome Hospitality.

Nikita Shahri, Co-founder, Chrome Hospitality adds, “With Late Checkout, we wanted to build a space where the cocktail culture is as central to the experience as the food and design. The Lower Parel outpost allowed us to establish that identity, and with Bandra, we’re bringing the same spirit to a neighbourhood with its own distinct energy and relationship with going out. Having designed both the spaces, I wanted the interiors to feel warmer and more layered, with a mix of materials, textures and distinct zones that give the 6,000 sq. ft. venue its own character. While the design evolves with the location, the intention remains the same: to create a space that people want to return to, whether they’re here for a cocktail, a meal or simply
to spend time with their community.”

While the Lower Parel outlet reflects an industrial aesthetic, the Bandra space adopts a warmer, bohemian design inspired by the neighbourhood’s culture and social scene. The expansion is part of Chrome Hospitality’s strategy to grow its portfolio of experience-led dining and drinking concepts.
