Rooted in Burmese culinary traditions, the restaurant’s signature cuisine is bold and refreshing. Drawing from cherished heirloom recipes and street food gems, the menu is shaped by years of continued research and travel by its culinary team, led by Head Chef Ansab Khan.

The interiors of this 98-seater, 3,128 square feet restaurant are inspired by Burmese folk tales with the focal wall depicting scenes from popular folklore, bringing together culture, art and contemporary design. Marking its 21st restaurant and first-ever outpost in Chandigarh, Burma Burma continues to expand its Pan-India presence, bringing Burmese culture to life in a way that has never been done before.

Designed by Minnie Bhatt of Minnie Bhatt Designs, the interior design of the new 98-seater restaurant at Nexus Elante Mall is inspired by Burmese folk tales, transforming age-old stories into a living, breathing space. From the moment you walk in, the façade with its clear glass openings framed in wooden mouldings, invites you in, opening into a patio-like foyer with lush Burmese lacquer planters. Inside, the restaurant unfolds like a visual narrative: walls come alive with large-scale handcrafted artworks depicting animals, mythical beings and moral fables rooted in Buddhist culture, each rendered with texture, depth and detail. Woven screens, chic blind installations and patterned floors in mustard, terracotta and deep yellow hues create distinct zones to maintain a sense of flow. A striking folktale mural anchors the space, while curated artefacts, crafted surfaces and warm lighting add moments of discovery at every turn. The result is interiors that tell a story of Burma’s cultural heritage through a contemporary lens, true to Burma Burma’s signature aesthetic across its pan-India restaurants.

Established in 2014, Burma Burma (Hunger Pangs Pvt. Ltd.) is the brainchild of restaurateurs and childhood friends, Chirag Chhajer and Ankit Gupta. The brand operates 21 restaurants and a delivery kitchen across Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Hyderabad, led by Chef Ansab Khan, Head Chef.
