Azure Hospitality, co-founded by Rahul Khanna and Kabir Suri, has launched Jhoom, an all-day dining restaurant and bar at SCO 27, Madhya Marg, Sector 26, Chandigarh. The concept combines Indian, European and Asian cuisines with a cocktail programme inspired by Indian ingredients and cultural references.
The restaurant draws its design inspiration from historic residences in Calcutta and Bombay, incorporating Art Deco elements into its interiors. Its indoor dining area, Kothi, and outdoor space, Bagh-e-Jhoom, cater to different dining settings, including social gatherings and leisurely meals.
The menu combines Indian dishes such as Dal Makhani, Boneless Smoked Butter Chicken, Railway First Class Mutton Curry and Peepe Wala Baigan Bharta with European options including pasta, risotto, grills, sandwiches and hand-tossed pizzas. The Asian selection features sushi, dim sum, prawn tempura, ramen, Burmese Khao Suey and Thai curries. Desserts include Old-School Caramel Custard, Coin Jalebi with Rabdi and Gulab Jamun Brûlée.
“India has always been a meeting point of cultures, ideas and influences, and that exchange has shaped everything from our food to our music and the way we gather. With Jhoom, we have taken inspiration from this rich cultural fabric to create a contemporary hospitality concept that feels rooted, distinctive and relevant today,” said Rahul Khanna, Co-founder, Azure Hospitality.
Janti Duggal added, “At Jhoom, the menu is about the journeys flavours have taken and the memories they carry with them. India's culinary identity has always been shaped by exchange, with ingredients, techniques and traditions travelling across regions and finding new expressions. We wanted to reflect that spirit by bringing familiar Indian comfort food together with European and Asian influences,”
The beverage programme is organised into three cocktail collections: The Sharbat Society, featuring drinks such as Nizam’s Lost Pearl and The Saffron Crown; The Verandah Club, with options including Shahi Tukda and Moon Over Pichola; and The Ballroom, offering cocktails such as Blue Maharaja and Gold Leaf Negroni. Non-alcoholic choices include Kokum Ginger Fizz, Aam Panna Cooler, Seb Anar Mirch Sangam and Khus Sharbat.
Vineet Kochar, COO, Azure Hospitality, said, “With Jhoom, the focus was on translating a strong concept into a cohesive experience across every touchpoint. The interiors establish the mood, the menu brings together diverse culinary influences, and the beverage programme adds another dimension through its ingredients, techniques and storytelling,”
With its combination of multi-cuisine dining, indoor and outdoor seating, and a dedicated cocktail programme, Jhoom adds a new restaurant and bar format to Azure Hospitality’s portfolio in Chandigarh.
