AFETO Cafe has entered Delhi’s competitive café market with a business model centered on in-house production, specialty coffee and all-day dining. Founded by pastry chef and entrepreneur Ashima Gupta, the Rajouri Garden-based café aims to serve a broad consumer base, including coffee enthusiasts, working professionals, families, fitness-focused consumers and dessert lovers.
Named after the Portuguese word for “affection,” AFETO has been developed around four key principles: craftsmanship, authenticity, innovation and hospitality. The concept focuses on creating a community-oriented café experience while maintaining operational control through an entirely in-house kitchen model.
A key differentiator for the business is its commitment to preparing all menu items internally. According to the company, everything from breads and granola to desserts and beverages is produced in-house, a practice that remains relatively uncommon among café operators in Delhi.
The menu includes specialty coffee, matcha beverages and a nitrobrew offering, alongside breakfast dishes, lentil pancakes and a range of larger meal options. The café has also introduced what it describes as Delhi’s first dedicated croffle counter. The dessert portfolio includes chocolate and matcha fondant, chocolate mousse and freshly baked dry cakes.
The venue has been designed to cater to multiple customer segments. In addition to its main café area, AFETO includes a dedicated section connected to a gym, offering a protein-focused menu developed for fitness-oriented consumers. This dual-format approach allows the business to target both traditional café visitors and health-conscious diners.
Founder Ashima Gupta brings close to a decade of professional baking experience to the venture. Alongside her pastry background, she has also completed professional barista certification, enabling her to oversee both the food and beverage aspects of the business.
“AFETO was never just about opening a café, it's about building a space where care, connection and warmth come through in everything we serve. Nothing here is outsourced. From our coffee to our croffles, every product reflects years of learning what it takes to deliver quality without shortcuts,” said Ashima Gupta, Founder, AFETO Cafe.
The launch reflects a broader trend in India’s café sector, where operators are increasingly focusing on specialty beverages, fresh production models and diversified menu offerings to drive customer engagement and repeat visits.
