Ankita Poojari is a second-generation entrepreneur at the forefront of Mumbai’s evolving food
and beverage landscape. As Director of Shiv Sagar, the iconic restaurant brand, she leads
the group's strategic evolution while also driving the success of new-age hospitality
concepts such as Butterfly High, Kyma, and The Bigg Small Café + Bar.
An alumna of the Indian School of Business (ISB), Ankita holds an MBA with dual
specializations in Strategy and Marketing. Her academic foundation has equipped her with a
deep understanding of consumer behavior, brand positioning, and long-term growth strategies.
She also holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Commerce degree from the prestigious
H.R. College of Commerce & Economics.
Before entering the hospitality industry, Ankita built a strong corporate foundation through
roles at Welspun World and Reliance Industries, where she gained hands-on experience in
large-scale operations, strategic planning, and customer-centric business models. This
exposure helped shape her vision for modernizing legacy brands and navigating competitive
markets.
In 2019, Ankita joined the family business with a clear vision: to preserve Shiv Sagar’s
rich legacy while redefining it for the next generation of diners. Since then, she has been
instrumental in diversifying the group’s portfolio and infusing innovation into every
touchpoint. Under her leadership, the group has launched multiple contemporary dining
concepts — each reflecting her commitment to cultural relevance, experiential design, and
exceptional hospitality.
