Yaegar Hospitality Launches REPEAT Bar in Kochi

Yaegar Hospitality, the hospitality company behind ’Coz Coffee, has launched REPEAT, a new neighbourhood bar in Kochi founded by Nithin Simon and Shouri Akkineni. The bar combines a cocktail-focused beverage programme with contemporary bar food and has a seating capacity of 79 guests.

REPEAT’s food programme is led by Chef Antony Jose and draws from local bar food, familiar dishes and flavours from Asia and the West. The launch menu includes tuna crudo, stuffed wings, beef tartare and Tony’s Noods.

The food menu focuses on shareable bar dishes while using contemporary techniques and combinations. The beverage programme includes classic cocktails alongside signature drinks.

“Repeat really started with a very simple thought, what are the things we enjoy enough to do again? It could be your usual drink, a dish you keep thinking about, an unplanned second round, or a conversation that goes on much longer than you expected. That became the idea behind the bar. We wanted it to feel familiar, easy and lived in, but still have enough personality to keep you curious. With the cocktails, we’ve focused on doing the classics properly while also chasing flavours and combinations that are fun and unexpected. The collaboration with Chef Toney, we’ve approached the food in the same way, proper bar food, but through a chef’s perspective. At the end of the day, Repeat is about those little experiences you enjoy enough to come back for. And hopefully, one more round," said Nithin Simon, co-founder of Repeat and coz cafe.

Shouri Akkineni, Cofounder, Repeat, added, “We’d been talking for a while about the kind of bar we’d want to keep going back to ourselves. The idea for Repeat really came from noticing what it is about certain places that makes you want to spend more time there. You can spend a few hours there without feeling like the place is asking too much of you. After a couple of visits, you start finding the things you like, and that familiarity builds on its own. Tony’s food made a lot of sense for that too. It’s familiar enough to crave, but there’s usually something in it that you didn’t quite expect. We liked the idea of bringing all of that together in one place, and that’s what we’ve tried to do with Repeat.”

The bar also includes The Apartment, a separate space that can accommodate 8-10 people. The format combines the bar’s cocktail programme and food menu with a smaller private seating option.

With the launch of REPEAT, Yaegar Hospitality has added a dedicated bar format to its Kochi operations, expanding beyond its existing ’Coz Coffee business.
