Tata Starbucks Enters Meghalaya, Opens First Store in Shillong

Tata Starbucks has opened its first store in Meghalaya, marking its entry into the state and strengthening its presence across Northeast India. Located at Police Bazar in Shillong, the new outlet will open to customers on September 19, 2026, from 8 am to 11 pm.

The store’s design draws from Shillong’s local character, combining timber, woven elements, earthy tones, greenery and patterned textiles. Deep green tiles, soft lighting and a central lounge give the space a relaxed setting, while smaller seating areas and artwork are designed for customers to sit, work and connect.

Commenting on the launch, Adrit Mishra, COO, TATA Starbucks, said, “We are delighted to bring the Starbucks Experience to Northeast India with our first store in Shillong. At Starbucks, our passion for coffee is at the heart of everything we do, from sourcing some of India and the world’s finest coffees to the craft and expertise of our trained partners (baristas) who bring every cup to life. With this new store, we look forward to creating a welcoming Third Place for the people of Shillong, a space beyond home and work where customers can connect, belong and enjoy meaningful moments over great coffee.”

The food menu includes options such as the Mushroom Melt Sandwich, Tofu & Spinach Croissant Sandwich and Bhuna Chicken Puff, along with the Double Chocolate Chip Cookie and Banana Chocolate Loaf Cake. The Shillong outlet will offer Starbucks’ core beverage range, including the Java Chip Frappuccino and Zesty Orange Cold Brew, along with Strawberry Açaí and Mango Dragonfruit Refreshers. Customers can also choose from Protein Cold Foam variants and zero-sugar Vanilla, Hazelnut and Caramel flavours.

The opening adds Meghalaya to Tata Starbucks’ growing India network as the coffee chain continues to expand into new markets beyond the country’s major metros.
